This question is taken up and discussed since long by Samskrit poets in India. The reason for this behaviour is nothing but the differences in tastes. That's why it is said-'Loko Bhinna Ruchihi" i.e. The world has people with different tastes. If all people had had same kind of taste/s, then only one religion would have been enough, only one or two colours would have sufficed our hearts.
Then again the question-'Why do tastes difer?' The reason, according to our thinkers is- the nature.By nature,i.e. mindset, we have different likes and dislikes ,which make us think differently and act differently. That's why, one thing liked by one may not be liked by another.
During the life time of Lord SriKrishna, he had a friend named Uddhav. He believed that god has neither form or qualities. God is 'Nirakaara and Nirguna' according to him. but he sees Gopikas worshipping Krishna in his human form He tells Krisna-"this is not correct. You must tell them to perform Nirguna pooja".Krisna smiles and tells him-" OK. But they are so blind after me that they won't listen if I tell them. So,you only go and tell them to perform Nirguna pooja, and not Saguna pooja".
Accordingly, Uddhav goes to Vrindavan and Explains his views to All devottes of Krishna. Then they simply smile and say-" Uddhavji, this is a matter of heart minding.HEart is happy in what it loves. What you say may be correct. But we feel happy in Worshipping Krishna in this form".-Uddhav turns back empty handed.
That's how, dear sir, likes and dislikes work.
Hope, i have thrown some light.
