I would say no. Do you feel any better after you've had your revenge or do you still suffer from the pain which was caused to you. It is a lose lose situation. It is best to leave things behind where they belong, in the past.

Taking revenge won't undo the wrong you experienced. If anything it will just burden your system with ill feelings, like guilt, anger, or hopelessness.

Taking revenge is just allowing emotion to control you.

in some instances it is. revenge is sometimes needed to stop a person from repeating what they did. also i someone killed a member of my family and they got off on a technicality i would serve justice in my own way .

No revenge is not OK. Revenge is an act out of anger and hatred, it is taking the law into your own hands, and how can you be absolutely certain that you have the right person or what that person was truly thinking at the time they did whatever got you upset.

Revenge no . . . justice yes.  We should stoop to anyone's low level, but the unjust should receive punishment via the court system or through the social system.

We all know the politically correct answer to this question is no, revenge is not okay but we still seek revenge when we feel that others have offended us, hurt us or do us wrong. It's not okay in my opinion but it is something that I struggle with quite a bit.
