Are You sure You are Listening?

God Seaks,DoYou Listen

God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.—C.S. Lewis

When I sit beside a quiet gentle little stream, that is when I feel Gods gentle love and the wonderful peace He brings to my spirit. When I listen to sermons, especially by Chuck Swindall on Insight for Living that is where He speaks to my conscience. It is in the horrid pit of pain that He shouts to me, usually about something I am doing that needs to be corrected. Sometimes it is a relationship that is toxic that is for our own good we sever. Jesus does his best work at such moments. Just when the truth about life sinks in, his truth starts to surface. He takes us by the hand and dares us not to sweep the facts under the rug but to confront them with him at our side.
-- Max Lucado

In one instance it was someone close to me that God allowed her to be terribly abusive to me in order to sever the relationship. I was more concerned about serving her than I was in serving my beloved Jesus. It was a tremendously painful experience and education to be sure. However, it was a necessary one and one I am glad to have experienced. In the end it helped draw me closer to our fantastic God than anything else ever could have. When God is speaking to you in the quiet wonderful moments, in our conscience moments or in our painful moments, are you listening?

Prayer: Thank you my beloved Father for those special times when we share precious moments together and I feel so much of Your wonderful gracious love. Thank You Father for providing the resources like great preachers to prick my conscience. I am sorry for when I am a stubborn bonehead and refuse to listen any other way than through You putting me through the fiery coals of hell in tribulations. Thank you enough to care to do that for me even though it must brake Your awesome heart to do so. In the name of our magnificent savior Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      Hi Femmeflashpoint.

I pray you are healed from your experiance.

One thing about living here: people have making a sucker out of others down to an art.

Yet through time and prayer I have become very senstive to it and can pick it up quickly.

Just this week someone tried to trick me into teaching thier child for free. It took about four days, but God revleaed the devious plan and I didn't fall for it.

I can never let my guard down here.

      God bless you.

I clicked up, all the way across, including funny d/t the "stubborn bonehead" comment, lol.

This hit home for me. I've recently been through a similar situation myself and I'm still wound-licking and catching my breath after the fall-out.

And, to quote Mssrs. Lewis and Lucado ... very nice touch. It's nearly impossible to go wrong when lending those men's insight and advice. :)
