The Blame Game People Play

Put The Blame Where It Belongs

In today's society there are plenty opportunities to play games now on the internet, the TV and even with our cell phones etc.

So many of us are so preoccupied playing these games but there is a game that has been played throughout all generations and will be played throughout eternity and that is the game called the blame game. Everyone is playing it!...

I can remember another day with my routine doing my household chores. I would walk pass my son's room only to see it in such a mess "sigh". I approached him asking him when is he going to clean up his messy room. His response is " mom if you didn't clean up the room for us when we were kids, if you taught us to clean it ourself, I would probably be keeping it clean today.

The blame game!

When I went through a divorce, today I have no ill feelings toward my ex husband. I have forgiving him. I felt that he was a good provider at the time. I never condoned the fact that he cheated on me.

I take some responsibility for it leading up to it, but I also hold him responsible for his actions. My daughter asked her father " dad why did you cheat on mom" his reply was because I felt neglected" The blame game! He could of said; I felt neglected but it was wrong for what I did....

Too many people blaming everyone else for their own choices. My father had a drinking problem, does that mean I have to have a drinking problem too? By no means! We are all accountable for our own actions which I am happy to say that my father was delivered from his and he died knowing the Lord.....

A lot of people want to blame God for all the bad that happens in this world and to them.

Why do people

blame God?

Read: Job 10:1-13

About the Text:

1) We're all familiar with the story of Job.

2) Job is a righteous man, but Satan doesn't like that.

3) So Satan challenges God to see if he can get Job to curse God.

4) God allows Satan to do as he desires to so tempt Job to curse God.

5) Job's friends come to console Job, but instead say that God has punished him.

6) While Job never says that he has sinned, he does attribute his condition to God instead of Satan.

7) Job blames God for his difficulties.

Today we are no different we want to blame God first for our problems and for what is going on in our world! There is someone else that we should be blaming and that is the devil our adversary.

Satan is and always has been man's adversary - The word "Satan" means adversary.

Jesus said of Satan:

John 8:44

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does.

He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. "He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof."

We must resist him because he is on the prowl for us.

1 Peter 5:8,9

"Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world."

Satan is ultimately responsible for all of the evil that is in this world, not God. Evil exist because of who he is. Many don't believe in him but he is real and he is responsible for all evil...... using many to do his evil works! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short!

After Satan deceived them, God came to visit Adam and Eve. Adam blames both Eve AND God. "the woman that thou gavest me" implies it is God's fault because he gave the woman. Eve, in turn, blames the serpent.

Take Responsibility - For Our Own Actions

We don't want to take responsiblity for our own actions. God is an easy target to blame, We are responsible for our own choices in life, God gave us a free will.

Galatians 6:7,8 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life."

The truth is that God is not responsible for our choices we were giving the freedom to choose between right and wrong.

Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed."

Joshua 24:15, "Choose you this day whom you will serve."

Matthew 7:13,14 "Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broway, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it."

God Isn't Responsible

for everything

Many feel that since God is the creator that He is responsible for everything. God is love and only is responsible for the good that happens. We live in a fast paced world and when we have problems we expect God to fix things fast. God never promised us a rose garden but He did promise to see us through. God is responsible for all good that is in the world.

(James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning".

God is not responsible for the evil that is in this world the devil our adversary is and also mankind is responsible for their own actions.

Romans 2:6-11 "who will render to every man according to his works: to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life: but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek; but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek: for there is no respect of persons with God."

Sometimes Bad Happen

For a good purpose

Have you ever considered that sometimes bad things happen for a good purpose? When they do happen God provides us with the tools to get through and that is His grace and mercy. In stead of cursing God and blaming Him for all the bad that happens we should be praising Him and thanking Him for all the good that He has giving us and start taking responsibility for our own actions. After all He did give us a free will. Don't you think that it is time to stop playing The Blame Game and start instead choosing to do what is right?

In:

Job 35:9-15 Elihu says that no one praises God when they ought.

Psalm 18:3 "I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies."

Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

Father we ask you to forgive us when we tend to blame others for our own choices that we make. We also ask you to forgive us for blaming you for all the bad that happens in this world and to us. Help us to praise you more and to take responsiblity for our own actions. Give us the grace and strength to do what is right by us and to others and most of all to show more gratitude for all that you have done in Jesus name. Amen!
