Time travel, prophesies and ancient aliens

Ancient aliens and time travel

Some unconventional and pseudo-scientific views of the universe

I decided to take a break from political commentary because I have been getting increasingly frustrated with the self-centered, power-hungry way this country is managed. To clear my mind of foul politics, I found myself watching a re-re-run of a quasi-documentary about “Ancient Aliens”. The premise was centered on Von Daniken’s theories about early alien visitations. There was a time when I was tempted to believe Von Daniken but I have grown old enough to develop my own theories.

I am not a scientist, I graduated high school 40 years ago and the world has changed tremendously since then. The discussions presented here are based on my interpretations of the science I learned in high school. I consider these opinions more an exercise in imagination than any kind of science or real personal opinion. When and if I decide to let myself express my personal scientific opinions publically I will be sure to label then as such. These”ain’t” them.

The pseudo-science background

Physics has managed to develop some theories about the origin of the Universe, creation of stars, galaxies, black holes, dark matter and many other subjects well beyond my comprehension. If they can dream up theories I can do it too. My theories are much more imaginative and much less mathematically sound. I hope they are entertaining and/or thought provoking.

First, the big bang was a rupture in the membrane of existence through which time began leaking into the volume where our universe now exists. Time is the actual force that powers our universe and the other four recognized forces are derived from time. Time spewing into this volume created the universe and the laws of physics that make it work.

Physicists have not yet realized that time is a force, not a dimension. All current physics is built on time as a dimension and this major fault in logic creates the illusion that the universe has a speed limit. As simple three-dimensional beings humans may never achieve the depth of understanding to become star travelers or time travelers.

Time as a force opens some new possibilities we have not imagined. We recognize gravity as a force and we know we can overcome gravity by opposing it with a greater force. We can break the atomic force that binds atoms – if only in a limited way. We can manipulate the electromagnetic force even though we do not truly understand it. Imagine overcoming the time force. We could separate ourselves from the universe that depends on time and enter into a new universe – in a sense looking back/down on the universe we have escaped. We could move to different coordinates and re-enter the time-based universe wherever we wanted. [I admit this is pure fantasy but it is interesting as a mind exercise.]

Now to Ancient Aliens

Suppose we moved back in time and were seen (witnessed?) by humans of the time. It is completely understandable that they would be inspired to record what they saw because it would make such an impression. The cave paintings are now explained.

A personal note here: I refuse to let this discussion fall into the time travel paradox trap. I will therefore ignore the time travel paradox in its entirety. I do not actually believe in physical time travel.

Rock carvings depicting flying craft and beings with headgear or helmets can be explained without resorting to aliens. With these last couple of sentences I have bypassed Von Daniken’s theories completely.

Prophets and prophesies

Through the centuries seers, prophets, wizards and alchemists have seen visions that were considered glimpses into the future by many.  I propose an explanation for this phenomenon. Electrical engineers are well aware of reflection of signals back along a conductor from breaks or sharp increases in resistance. This property of electrical signals can be used to determine the distance to a break in a long wire or locate a high resistance problem. This is a property of the electromagnetic force.

Now, assuming time is a force not a dimension, it can be postulated that disturbances in the flow of time can cause reflections back along the time line. Remember this concept.

Keep up with me here. Science has shown that magnetic fields applied to a subject’s brain can create sensations that are not real. Suppose a radio signal or some other electromagnetic signal causes a disturbance in the time flow. The reflection back along the time line can stimulate images in the brain of someone who is both sensitive to the phenomenon and in the right place and time to be stimulated. A vision of the future is created. The vision could be a movie or television image beyond the understanding of the receiver. It would be short and out of context – subject to interpretation in the terms and language of the receiver. Prophesies and prophets are now explained.

Disclaimer

I am not an imaginative writer like Von Daniken. I have spent some time deep in thought about these subjects (at least thirty minutes) and I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts. I do not want readers to believe there is any real science included or that I believe any of what I have just written. I believe there are things beyond the ability of humans to understand. I believe we need to keep trying to understand as much as we can about the universe and about each other.

Epleeba, I found your musings on the nature of time to be quite interesting. I've long been fascinated with the fundamental workings of the universe, and have likewise toyed with alternative ideas to explain them.

Over the years, as I've tried to educate myself on the established science of the cosmos, I've perceived what appears to be a recurring theme: While the universe is quite complex, the principles that govern it ultimately find their expression in the simplest of terms.

This is why I find your theory of time so interesting. Long ago, scientists discovered that electrity and magnetism were simply two aspects of the same force. Could it be that time (though not currently considered a "force") and gravity share a similar relationship? I guess it's something to think about...

Fascinating theory. Thanks for taking the time to write.

      Namaste.

Very interesting - it would explain a lot of things like ESP and deja vu as well. Thank you for an enjoyable read!
