Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

      Here are my favorite verses:

Proverbs 3:5, 6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

My research shows when many of these quotes come from. Shakespeare was one of the authors of Proverbs and the New testament was written after the 4th CAD by founding fathers of the Catholic Church who were in the pay of the Roman Caesars. The first bible was the Vulgate compiled and partly written by Jerome, late 4th CAD, and his cohorts. Jerome was a student of Plato and gathered writings from around the Empire and selected and altered those he thought would make into a good story. That's why there are so many variations in the NT stories. It's a shame that the origin of these things is so hidden. Most of it is from ancient myths and sun worship based on bringing the word of the sun to earth. Might be hard for those who believe strongly in it to accept but the evidence is real and does not lie.

My favorite Bible verse is the one needed at the time, a word in season that speaks beyond the present situation. I'm grateful that so many Bible verses have been put to song which makes them so easy to memorize.

Thy word, oh Lord, is a light to my path and a light unto my feet....

I've studied the Bible for many years in all it's forms.

The Bible is packed with so many gems of wisdom that I can't say any particular passage is my favorite.

      Interesting lens.

I read God's words in my own heart mostly -- I bless this lens for your sharing of the formal Bible verses with those who don't know them. Keep well!
