How Do You Feel ~ When You Launch a 'Religious Thread' ~ and Nobody Responds?

   Suppose - you create a thread in the 'Religion and Philosophy' forum (like this one) - and no one seems to take it seriously!

      Ask an honest question about god/non belief and you will mostly receive honest answers.
      
      Put underlying insults that attack anyone not of the same faith and it shouldnt come as a surprise to you that no one will take you seriously. It also helps to put a little thought behind your posts, because honestly they make little to no sense half the time.

      If it is a recent trend, perhaps the problem isn't the thread or the specific question, but that there have been so many, many, many religious forums and questions people are just exhausted by the topic. If that is the case, it isn't "sick" it is just a natural response to an overworked subject.

   I have found here on HP, that mostly people who want to debate will come on board. But theists generally do not come on board merely to talk about religion in general or their own religion. Sometimes a couple of theists wish to fight the atheists and then a hearty debate ensues. Rarely do theists chat merrily on and on with other theists.
   I have no idea about other forums, since I never venture out of the safety of HubPages forums.

      Yours is a very valid point. When I read the question's part about them not being taken seriously, I assumed it meant no one was joining their discussion. I'm sorry if I was mistaken.

   GS: The stimulus in most forums is generally to debate. Theists are generally peaceful people who have better things to do than argue, fuss and fight about religion. Positive feedback is not what goes on in forums for the most part. Sometimes it happens for comic relief. But not cosmic relief... lol.

   I mean... just because people do not respond to your OP?
   - come on!!! Actually, you have gotten a lot of response considering how many threads you have started.
   However, I do not even consider you to be religious. You and I are probably considered to be the equivalent of atheists to some! lol!)

      The 'opening post' of this thread might seem a bit confusing at first. But if you really connect the words (of the 'opening post)'with that picture of a 'religious' speaker before an audience ~ a meaning might emerge.
      
      
      
      It has been my experience that human beings are quite vulnerable before certain 'things' and circumstances. I feel that we all have a 'Kryptonite' (from Superman) type of weakness when we face certain elements in public (and private) life.
      
      It's very frustrating ~ for a public speaker ~ if he/she comes on to a stage ~ after months of exhaustive preparations ~ and the audience voluntarily quit the auditorium. That person might feel as if he has been hit with a baseball bat. There are many versions of this phenomenon. For example: if the entire world declines to see every 'news channel' out there ~ all these news corporations will run out of business within a month or so. But no one would ever do that. The possibility of that type of a radical 'revolution' (by the means of withdrawal) is very low indeed.
      
      
      
      If every inhabitant of this planet decide to withdraw from all these religious practices ~ all these religions and their institutions will have to shut down immediately. No one can run a religion if people are not 'following' it.
      
      It wouldn't really affect people, in general (just as it wouldn't really affect us if we quit to view news-channels, especially in this internet era). But it would definitely affect the financial and social status of a few individuals who control and benefit from the phenomenon that we commonly term as 'organized religions'.
      
      The Popes and Imams might get very frustrated if they witness something like this. Will that ever happen? ~I don't think so. The human character is fundamentally gullible in certain respects.
