Does God listen to our petitions or do we need a "hearing-aid"  to hear his answer?

You need to take action in order to make God hear you. God is with the one who works hard.

God 'hears' everything.  He answers every petition too, from those who have a personal relationship by His redemption.  It may be "Yes", "No", or "Wait". (Yeah, shucks.)

I feel sometimes that 'hearing-aids' would be beneficial, :-) but in continuing to seek His answer, we have to use our spiritual aids of faith, trust and obedience to what we presently know as His righteous instruction. Then we will be able to discern what is deemed to be 'our answer '.

Hmm-mm, this is a life-long training process, but even with the ups and downs that occur, it does get easier. It is our 'practicing' that helps us learn, our experiences that bring hope, because we continue to trust, receiving some answers more quickly, waiting for others.
Possibly a main problem is that we want the answer we want, and want it yesterday??

God does listen. Sometimes the answer is no. Sometimes the answer is Yes. Sometimes the answer is wait! Waiting is hard for everyone. Yes is the easiest. Usually what you ask for in your petition happens right away. If the answer is no, generally what you find is everything stands in the way of what you desire in your petition showing you that the answer is no. Wait is a little harder, sometimes it looks pretty good, but just doesn't get there quite yet. God is teaching you faith and patience. In this world of "right now". God is never changing, only we are. He is not a right now kind of God. We are right now people! It is up to us to listen carefully to what He is doing and why. Yes, No, Maybe. Watch and Listen, you will figure it out!

An all-powerful God does hear all your prayers.  He's just hard to comprehend because we were only given human minds.  Most of us can't even figure out people so how are we going to get our hands around the Creator?!

God hears all. Sometimes we have to be still long enough to receive what it is God is trying to convey to us. Oftentimes, we are so busy with our day that we don't stop and listen to God. I usually slow down and meditate. Works for me. lol

God does answer our prayers I think many times we will not slow down and spend enough intimate time with him to hear him!

Absolutely God hears our prayer. There are times when it appears not but rest assured. "Be anxious for nothing but in everything with prayer and thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."  (Phillipians)  If what you are asking is in line with his will for us  then 100% thumbs up on that question. His timimg is different then mine. He is on time, in time, and never a moment late. My experience is down to the minute at times, but he always comes through and far better then my finite mind could drum up for an answer. He loves and cares about you. He created only one of you  You are special. I think there are times I get tested to see if I pass. He is Lord believe to recieve and you will. His word is truth and life.

I got answers before I was "Born Again". He knew I needed him and sent messangers to my path to share the good news. His grace carried me for 32 years. I am eternally grateful.

He hears every single one of our prayers, and he answers them, the answers are not always what you'd want but they are answers. Like another poster said, sometimes the answer is yes, no, wait. But most times I find him answering me by guiding me on a path. I ask for something, he tells me what I have to do, where I have to go to receive it. By the way, my hearing aid is broken.

I believe God does hear our petitions (laugh) uniquely put. This is also called praying.. one on one with God/Jesus (bonding). Thats our way of communicating with him.

Great question!!!!  I say yes God hears us. God is aware of every aspect in detail about every soul created through Him (whether we acknowledge His providence or not.)
And yes again to the question needing a hearing aid to hear His answer.  We turn up our hearing aids by reading the Word of God, avoiding things that distract us away from praying "unceasingly"(as the Bible guides us),  fasting which helps your spirit become more sensitive to the stirrings, quickenings and movement of God's Spirit within us.

The greatest volumizer control to God's answers for our lives is in constantly loving the less fortunate, the oppressed, the wicked and the weak.
A.sk and it shall be given to you
    S.earch and you will find
K.nock and it shall be opened to you

Practice this little formula, added to the Lords Prayer and practice kindness to ALL(no matter what you really think you know about the other person), and avoid all selfserving-gratification. We all need to simply take time to learn God's provision---whether we live in castles or a cardboard boxes.  Jesus meets everyone right where they are, no matter what or who we are.
Thank you for this interesting question----keep A.sking
                                                                      keep S.earching
                                                                      keep K.nocking
p.s.  God delights in us the way we delight in our children.  For God not to already  being available to answer our questions would be the equivalent of us unwilling to answer our childrens answers.

Reminds me of a joke...so pardon me. smile
    ----------
    -----
A man goes to the altar before God and says, "Dear Lord, I have been faithful and sincere. I read a passage a day from the Bible, attend church every Sunday, and spread the Word each and every day. All I want is to win the lottery."

Suddenly a bright light forms at the altar and a booming but warm voice says, "My son, you are worthy. You will win the lottery."

The man is full of elation and joy. As the light fades he says thank you many times over and as he is leaving the altar says "You will not be sorry."

A day goes by and the man waits. He wins nothing. Two days and then three days pass. Still the man wins nothing. On the fourth day he thinks this must be it. The time has come. But he doesn't even find a penny on the sidewalk.

On the fifth day he goes back before the altar and asks, "I don't understand what I've done wrong. You told me that I would win the lottery."

The light and the booming voice suddenly returns. "Buy a lottery ticket," It says.

I've always liked that joke and the moral behind it—even though I'm not a man of religion. But the message is clear that things we want in life take action. Wisdom. Effort. Work. The things bestowed upon man are attributes. Not things. And those attributes provide for us to acheive.

You are given the power to win. But you still have to possess the ticket for it happen.

God does answer prayers...but if you could learn to ask the right questions and petitions, then the answers come much faster... smile
