Do you believe that "love is the answer"?
So much art and literary genius revolves around the theme, e.g. the song itself "love is the answer". Do you believe it makes sense? Or are there extreme situations where it does not apply? Thanks
Yes. But that's one viewpoint. God-men return because of this love. They manifests same by example and exhorts us to do the same. The Universe came from love, lives in love and at the end of its journey's close, it will return to love. Without the Mother Theresa's, the Martin Luther King's, all the men and woman who sacrifice in silence, this whole thing will crumple.
They inspire us and push us forward. Look at the inspirational writings of today and a lot would have been repeated before. By Christ, Buddha, Vivekananda and others. Life simply cannot exists without Love in some form or another. The highest measure of it here is perhaps what the Mother shows to the child. But it comes from the energy of the Creation Itself.
You make an interesting point there, manatita44, about the energy of Mother's love for the child coming from Creation (e.g. the Universe) itself. Makes me think that if we align ourselves to the Laws of the Universe, then really love is the answer
Quite so, Quirinius.
"Truth is in all, but love is all" - Sri Chinmoy. Love is the very pulse of being. It is what brings the God-men and women back into this world to serve. God is love ...
I am inclined to agree with coming into alignment with the universe. The love that it is and we are in and of has many shades when manifested for sure but it is an unconditional love that is perhaps tainted by the mind. It is what we are in and of so it makes sense we all express it in some way shape or form. With genius's there is no exception. No matter what circumstances we have been bought up in we will always find a way to express this unconditional love to a greater or lesser degree.
I truly believe that we need love just as we need to believe that there is something or someone greater than ourselves to believe in.It brings about a peace in our being that no other emotion has captured. But it has also brought about a lot of ugly in some people.Man/woman has not nor do I believe that they ever will be able to grow to a point of perfect love (undeserved kindness) because perfection dose not live here.Love is a beautiful thing but in the wrong hands it can and has been ugly and distorted.Love in the hands of an insecure mate or even for a cause can create much pain.....
God is Omnipresent; Love is Omnipresent, it follows then that perfection is omnipresent. Otherwise, the saints would have died in vain. They lived, by example, to give us faith and to believe in impossible dreams. Blend without that which is within.
In a way, true love, which is unconditional, calls for us to be perfect, "as the Father is perfect." At least, for us to be working on trying to be unconditionally loving as much as we can. Thanks for your inputs, loveofnight and manatita44.
I agree with Pennyofheaven....no just love, but unconditional love is the answer. But so does compassion, trust, loyalty, and inspiration are part of the answer too. But then again, all these things come under the grand heading of love!
Yes.
I definitely agree that LOVE is the answer of our lives.
Many times, things are done for love and difficulties are able to overcome for the sake of love. Using LOVE the right ways, it will be great blessing. But when LOVE turns to hatred then it is destructive.
The Bible says God is love, so that would be a "yes" answer, given I'm the Calvinist that I am.
If the question is "should we stop someone like Hitler?" then I'd say the answer above works, but needs to be worked out with some physical restraint on our parts in the providence of God as His instruments in world history.
"All we need is love." Indeed "love is all we need." Yet one must define love before this begins to make sense. Love being not just unconditional but also "agape" in nature. Perhaps if you think of this as representing divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, volitional, and thoughtful love we can begin to realize that the term "love" through the years has significantly broadened in comprehensiveness.
Yet it is indeed the answer; I believe what throws some off this being the complete answer perhaps, rests in the fact that they think death is an end-point or a significantly depressive state that has no dynamic nature to it. From our perspective when people die or their life ends suddenly we see this requiring judgment, retribution, or at minimum justice. Our idea for justice is significantly scewed, primarily because it is somewhat retributive, banishing (from society), it seeks pay-back and we have burdened ourselves with giving out punishment that does not assist with increasing love in our world; it primarily has become an incomplete deterrent for the propagation of violent crimes. Once people have been convicted it appears like they are seldom normalized again.
Therefore I conclude that our society is not efficient at increasing this love; by forgiving, rehabilitating, and creating a climate that increases it in general. As long as we "sweat the small stuff" are unwilling to forgive others and insulate ourselves from each other because of fear it will be difficult. I leave you with one of my favorite short films of all time; it is called Validation... The URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbk980jV7Ao
Unequivocally.. YES!
But not in the way you think. I think that self love is the answer to living a complete and happy love. It also is the best way to be capable of loving others, and giving them the support that they desire and allowing them to support you in your goals.
To be able to love oneself, yes. 'self love' is what a lot of us feel, and it is generally associated with selfishness. Perhaps you speak of the importance of loving oneself which ultimately prevents one from going down the destructive path.
