Is there a difference being baptised in Jesus name or the Father, Son and Holy Ghost?
Many denomination usually have an issue whether you are baptised in Jesus name or Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
But if all three (trinity) are one, why then there is an issue with it's usage?
Yes all three are one, but individually they are called the trinity. One does not ned to baptized in order to go to Heaven. It is out of obedience to God that we do so. If it be necessary, then why was the sinless, perfect Christ baptized? Out of obedience to the Father.
exactly if Jesus needed to be baptized then certainly we do
celafoe.... baptism is the washing away of sins (symbolic) Jesus had no sin to wash away. It is an act of obedience to God. Water does not save your soul, only the blood.
If I understand it correctly, the line where Jesus alledgedly said to baptise in the name of the Father, the Son, and the HS, is not in the earliest manuscripts but was added later by the Church to prop up the trinity doctrine.
However if someone gets a bit upset as to who's name somebody is baptised in, they really should grow up and get a grip on themselves.
To do something 'in the name of' someone means to do something from the position of being that someones's representative; to do something on their behalf. There is no intrinsic mystical power going here. To baptise in Jesus' name is not to imbue power or spiritual hocus pocus, but to baptise someone because Jesus is not physically here to do it himself.
There shouldn't be an issue. They are all in ONE no matter what.
To say "Father, Son, Holy Ghost" is not mentioning The Name. Name is singular.
And Father Son Holy Ghost are titles not names.
Jesus told the disciples to baptize in the name of...., Since Jesus is the only saving name the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost is Jesus.
So baptism with the Name Jesus called over them is fulfilling this command.
And baptism is not an option it is a command to be saved.
Mark 16:16 he that believeth AND IS baptized shall be saved...

I have heard Christians say, "I serve Jesus but I am not 100% sure He is the son of God..."Is this acceptable? How can one be grateful what Jesus did for us not even knowing for sure He did it?? Isn't this a case of, "I will be a Christian just in case there is a God and so I don't...

The sun-god Horus was worshipped nearly 1,000 years before the story of Jesus. Check these parallels: 1.Both were conceived of a virgin.2.Both were the "only begotten son" of a god (either Osiris or Yahweh)3.Horus's mother was Meri, Jesus's mother was Mary.4.Horus's foster father was...

Do you believe in the Trinity and why? What many people do not realize is that the Trinity is dogma from those not empowered by the same spirit as those that wrote the Bible. It is not sacrosanct. I happen to believe that Jesus is the Son of God and one in the same as God and that it is a Holy...
