Only when you turn your back on it. .ti no kcab ruoy nrut uoy nehw ylnO
Never, because when you are laid to rest, what you did on earth will continue to modify the future as if you were alive.
The future is never behind you. In fact, there is no such thing as the future, only the present. You will NEVER live in the future, only the present. And therefore, the future will never be behind you if it never ACTUALLY happens!
Your future is behind you when you miss the opportunities that would have led to that particular future. Then, the things that would have been, will not be, and are behind you.
Never. There is always a "next minute", day, week, month or year where something compelling could happen in your life. On the other hand if you dropped dead today and believe in the "after life" the adventure would still continue!
As soon as you arise to a new day and welcome it with a smile.
To understand the meaning of a word you have to understand the language game where the word is used. In tennis, "love" means a player has not scored a point; "deuce" means equal. read more
I think the only time in this life that my future would be behind me is when I am dead. At that point in time I hope to move on to a new beginning with a new future - hopefully in heaven, perhaps left to wander God's gardens in peace and serenity ahhh that sounds so wonderful! But for now I am happy living in the present life here on earth - not ready to move on yet!
I love the quote: "It's never too late to be what you might have been." (Thanks for this question!) In searching for that exact quote, I found out it is actually the title of a book and I just bought a used copy online! I'm so happy!
By definition, future means the time yet to come or things that's going to happen. It's all related to time and based on what we understand the time is, your future will never be behind you.
When you dwell so much on it or the past that you don't do anything to create one. Technically, it never is behind, it just hasn't been created.
It is behind when you give up and stop pursuing your hopes for tomorrow. I do not know any other ways to answer this question.
Your future is behind you every two seconds that you exist. The first second moves the future into the present, the second second moves the present into the past.
We can only transition from future, to present, to the past.
I am using 1 second intervals to prove this point. However in reality they all exist together. The smallest fraction of a second is the now so we live in a constant state of future, present, and past all at the same time. That is why we can never see any changes occurring in the aging process.
My future is always in front of me, not behind me. It will only be behind me when I am gone.
Well reality as we know it tells us that we are not really capable of living in the present because it takes time for the information about the present to be processed by our brains so as to comprehend it. In that small infinitesimal piece of time the present is lost becoming the past. We are always living in the past and everything is just nostalgia for the now, we are all history living in the past.
As for the future being behind you it could never be because it has not even happened, it does not exist only as an abstract idea inside the head based on past information.
Living like there's no tomorrow when there isn't one anyway.
But if this question is a metaphor then it might mean, stop dreaming about what might or might not be and just get on with your life. Put it all behind you and just get on with the present.
If you have a terminal illness then worrying about the inevitable will not help your situation between now and the inevitable so the best thing to do is put the future behind you to enjoy the now.
On the face of it putting your future behind you seems like a good idea except that all successful people make plans and a plan is only a map of actions to perform in order to get to a future result or a guide to get you somewhere in the future or how to get there if you want to or carry it out.
As it stands the future or the present doesn't exist in theory but in practice people make and carry out future plans everyday successfully. This means that metaphorically it could mean put your plans behind you for the moment, meaning that your future is potentially behind you.
I have figured this out; this so called connundrum has been solved. I am not sure why I suddenly came across this significant train of thought that yielded the quite simple answer. None the less, it has been done and now I reveal the answer.
Your future is indeed behind you when as a pro hockey player you either become too slow relative to other players (especially as a goalie) or when you stop/refuse to back check or perhaps when you become a Toronto Maple Leaf? I must admit that after reading Conradofontanilla's reply it suddenly made "cents" and there is no need for change. I am fine the way I am, thanks...

If God is omni present and knows the past ,present, and future, then why would he test us when...he already knows the outcome of our actions?

If you'd have the opportunity, would you travel back (or forward) in time?I've been recently wondering, what would I do if I was suddenly able to travel in time.I guess I'd love to travel BACK, just to relive or be able to see certain events in my life again, or be with my beloved relatives who...
