To those who believe the Bible is the infallible word of God, what are your thoughts on ...

God unleashing Satan back into the world after the thousand year reign?  I would love to know your thoughts as to the why.  Thank you for answering.

Faith Reaper- My answer to your question is if you look at Rev. 20. 7-10 regarding satans release from the bottomless pit, I believe these verses line up very well with Ezekiel chapters 37, 38 and 39. I should further mention that this also has something to do with the Seven Thunders mention in Rev. Chapter 10. Currently there is a series of Hubs writen by PlanksandNails regarding the Seven Thunders. And again I believe they are all tied in. To truely answer your question, I don't believe it can be fully answered here. This is one question that going to require some really deep study and you are going to get a very long answer.

Enjoy the study and God bless

Hi graceinus, thank you so much for your insight.  Yes, I have just thought of the time when I see God face-to-face to ask Him such, but wondered if anyone could provide more insight, but then when we see Him, I believe all will be understood.

Simple: he was never physically bound.  During Christ's 1000 year millenial reign, he will have no power over the hearts of man to tempt them, being "bound".  When the 1000 years begin to draw to a close, men will again begin to deny their God, even though he lives among them!  (But then again, look at the Jews when Christ was performing miracles among them...)  Satan will then be "loosed for a little season", gathering his "armies", or rather, pulling men away from the truth as he always does, to fight against God.  In the final battle, Gog and Magog, he and all his followers will finally be cast into outer darkness

Hi Wakerra, thank you so much for the very interesting answer here!  Wow, you do make it simple.   Yes, he (Satan) does do that no doubt!  I appreciate you sharing your knowledge here.  Thank you!

satan and his "angels" are cast into the lake of fire in the end, not outer darkness, along with death and hades.  Rev 20

Hello celafoe, yes, I understand about that, but just wonder why he is released again after a thousand years.  Blessings

Hi Faith Reaper! (I love your name smile.) Briefly, we see in Rev 20:5 that the rest of the dead--the unbelieving dead--are not brought to life from the dead until after the 1000 yr reign is completed. Only the saints, including those beheaded for their testimony of Jesus who are brought back to life again (the first resurrection), are those who reign/judge with Christ for that millennium.

When the unbelieving dead are brought back to life later, when Satan is released (v. 7), Satan leads them in one final rebellion for God to then judge at the great white throne once and for all. God carries out His final judgment on Satan and his followers. Likely some have joined their lot during the preceding 1000 yr reign.

What I wonder is whether some of the unbelieving dead-then-living see the light and chose to believe and not to follow Satan in that final rebellion and eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

Thanks, Ms. Dee, and, wow, here on your understanding of all of such!  Those are certainly great points to ponder and study on further no doubt.  I appreciate you taking the time to answer here.  God bless, Faith Reaper

I believe we are all to be tempted, even as Christ was; so then all who were born during this time who have lived a life with Christ and His bride reigning and ruling with Him have had no temptations. They have gone in and out of the city and been taken care of and I think it will be like paradise (how could it not with Christ there?) but then when the end of the millennium nears satan must be released to tempt these who have to choose between good and evil as we all have. We wonder how they could possibly be tempted I know but it is the same today. Whether it applies or not it makes me think of Ecclesiastes 1:9 (KJV)
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Hi Jackie,  yes, how could it not be indeed ... paradise with Christ!  I never thought about those born during this time . . . wow, yes, we all do have to make such a choice and it makes sense for those born during that time too to do so.  Yes Ecc.!

Hi Faith, I have an awful struggle with understanding the end times.  I have read a lot of the Bible, but the end times issue really confuses me.

I have attended many churches over the years and read many views on this issue.
Of course, some Christians love to argue about what this verse means or does not mean.  I can't stand to be in the midst of arguing Christians.  I just keep still.

A thousand years seems like such a long time.  If, in fact, this truly happens, and, if it is in the Bible, I know it WILL happen, I agree with Ms. Dee...I would hope that the unbelieving dead then living would see the light and not follow satan in that final rebellion.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help.  The Bible is a wonderful mystery in many cases...in my opinion.  I only know if it is in the Bible it is true.  Blessings Sparklea smile

Hi Sparklea, I do believe it to be true too, and so wish to understand such, but I think in those areas where it may be obscure, God may intend it to be so in order that we focus on the most important, love God and love others.  Bless you always!

He is probably trying to be fair and honest and show his followers both sides of the coin. However, i don't like that if god really existed he will see me as a devil worshiper simply because i chose not to follow on his path.. that would be lowest thing an almighty being could do, wouldn't you think so?

    Revelation 20: .........
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison
8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.
9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.
10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Hello taburkett, thanks for answering and citing related scripture, and His word is His word, pure truth, so the why as to Satan's release must be interpreted.

I've long wondered about sin (and Satan), ever since I heard about it in church when I was 3.

After studying many religions over the last half century, I have come to the conclusion that ego is the source of our suffering.

When spiritual counseling got me to let go of ego thoroughly one evening 42 years ago, I found myself outside my physical body, looking at the Los Angeles evening sky. I could see the near-empty parking lot next door at the Chez Claude restaurant at Olympic and Westlake. I could see the cracks in the pink stucco of the wall just outside the second story window where my body still sat across from the spiritual counselor. When I realized that I wasn't casting a shadow, I suddenly lost my moment of Light and found myself back in my human body. I was once again trapped in the original sin of separateness from God.

That's how easy it is to return to Him. That's how easy it is to fall from grace.

There is such powerful wisdom in the Bible, but people will not find it if they stay literal. "Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life" (2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV).

I have found a biblical timeline compatible with those of science. That discovery also led me to find the real culprit behind Noah's Flood and to find target of the Flood in the discoveries of science. I now understand how the seemingly outrageous longevity of the early patriarchs is only a code for something far more profound. I have discovered the Tree of Life, mentioned in Genesis 3, embedded in the subsequent two chapters.

I have discovered the mechanics of creation and performed miracles every bit as profound as Moses parting the sea. And yet, only recently did I discover that those same mechanics are detailed in Genesis 1 and 2. The secret of creation is right there.

Love really is the answer. And you can only find that love in the Bible if you approach it with utter humility and a deep hunger.

Hi lone77star, thanks for the interesting answer and your personal experiences.  I will agree as to love, true, agape love, being the answer to most of the world's problems of this day.  Still wonder about the release of satan after 1000 year reign.
