   I find it interesting just thinking about an answer. The body cannot exist without the Soul and the Soul needs the body to manifest God's Light. But the Soul is immortal and can exist without the body.
   
   The body can exist without the Soul for a short while. Here I am talking about the esoteric such as out-of-body experiences, etc. Again a body which has passed, is useful in the sense that it acts as an instrument for the grieving relatives and friends. The Soul has gone, but it's playing a parting role for the purification of others Souls.
   
   That is its final importance, as I know it, as once the Soul leaves properly, then it is only a mass of flesh and will return to the dust as per the laws of nature. Much peace.

   There is no evidence for the existence of a soul, but bodies are REAL. Therefore there is no importance attached to a soul, since it does not exist, except tin the minds of humans, who felt the need to create it. When a body dies, consciousness leaves. This is a fact. There is no evidence that a spirit or soul leaves the body.
   A body that dies is deprived of consciousness, indicating that consciousness is a purely physiological function. Consciousness is solely dependent upon a body that has metabolism intact...ALIVE.

   There will come a time when bodies will exist on this planet without the breath of God in them. As it says in Genesis 6:3,
   
   "And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh."
   
   When the spirit has ascended, then bodies will be like the other parts of physical matter, albeit more advanced. But without the soul, humanity will lose its connection to Truth and Humility. Civilization will cease, descending into wailing and gnashing -- victim and perpetrator.
   
   Short answer: No.

   The body and the sole are one unit in life and the body has no value without the soul with regards to this material world. When the soul departs, life is converted into death.
   
   But when we talk of the spiritual world or the life after death, that begins just after the soul departs our body, it is our body and soul both, which separately bear the fruit of what they have sowed in the material world. That is to say, that the body cannot detach itself from the result of its actions that it performed during life as a living being.
   
   Coming to another aspect, we see that many organs are donated from dead bodies to save or improve the life quality of ailing living humans. From this perspective, even without the soul, our body is valuable in serving others.
