In light of my latest hub I was wondering what other people believe the proper role of Imagination in faith is. So I figured this would be the best place to ask that question...
So what do you think?
I wrote a hub on faith and imagination. I want other peoples opinions on the matter. Doesn't this seem to be the place to get those opinions?
And could you please point out the rule where it says i cant post a link to one of my own hubs in the forums...
It doesn't say you can't post a link to one of your hubs in the forum. But when you start as many forum threads with a link to one of your hubs in as you have done, people will naturally get fed up with it and assume you are promoting your hubs.
But if you are really interested in my opinion, I have to say it is hard to accept what you say in your hub when your opinions and behavior in the past have led me to believe that you are yet another one who preaches rather than practices what they "believe." Therefore it is impossible for me to take seriously anything you write.
"faith without deeds is dead." R.I.P.
I agree with you Mark. The commercialization of one's faith doesn't show much to me. And by the way, when I was writing this reply I noticed this at the top of the page.
Note that advertising and promotional posts in the forums will be deleted and may result in the closing of your HubPages account. This especially includes the unsolicited posting of links to external sites. Please use the Forums in the spirit of community!
I read this to mean that promotional posts in forums, not just to external sites are prohibited. I could be wrong. Maybe someone can clarify this.
You are in fact wrong about this. You are aloud to post links to your own hubs in forums, regardless of how mark and misha feel about you...
Also I'm wondering exactly how looking for discussion on the topic of faith and imagination equates to the "commercialization" of my faith? Or was it because I even posted a hub on faith and imagination?
You are allowed to post links to your hubs in forums if they are appropriate to the discussion. Starting numerous threads and asking people to visit them is tantamount to promoting them. It clearly states:
"Please note that advertising and promotional posts in the forums will be deleted and may result in the closing of your HubPages account."
At the top of this page. If everyone did what you do, the forums would be full of people posting their hubs asking "I a noob, what u like my hub?" and bye bye forums.
I like your take on imagination, I also like how you incorporated scripture as not defining us, but to keep us from doing bad things. You also talked about the spirit and faith, I like that you used faith as in to do, I agree, what good is faith unless you act on it.
Which brings me to wonder why people don't. Anyways, I like to imagine God, its good for thought, I think it opens the doors in the imagination and allows us to keep reaching and understanding God.
Yea I find that its important for people to realize that scripture is not the be all and end all in discerning God's nature. It is an absolutely important aspect of that search but I feel that people often never go outside it and therefore create a box for what God is and isn't.

LOL - Me too. Did you get my email? I think I used a different address this time.
I got it, on the same address, I just did not get to answering emails yet
I guess I need to clarify what I mean by commercialization of religion. I clicked on the link to your hub and found 6 commercial links. I don't care one way or another. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers. My belief in God takes on a more Quantum Physics approach, so for me to comment on any individuals religious beliefs or thoughts is sanctimonious at best.
Thanks Misha and Mark for clarifying the link regs.
Thank you for pointing out my grammatical error. I hope it fulfilled your desire to feel superior to me...
Also the purpose of this thread was not to drive traffic to my hub but rather to start a discussion on the topic of that hub. My hub describes my position on the topic in full and therefor it is appropriate to post a link to it. If you really think it violates the rules... then report it and let hubpages decide.
The fact that you have decided to start an argument instead of reporting shows that your real desire is to attack me. Not something I find surprising but something I do find annoying as you have completely destroyed any chance at discussing the topic at hand (once again).
Oh, I already feel superior to you, don't you worry. Hard not to really.
Always keen to help a fellow hubber with his spelling. And I did report it also.
And as usual, you have managed to turn the issue into a personal attack on you, when the real issue is you promoting your hubs on the forums, not what I think of you or whether your views on a particular aspect of religious belief are worth discussing. Speaking personally, I tend to write my hubs, promote them and have the discussion on the hub comments box - where it belongs.
If you had any sense, you would have asked a question pertaining to your beliefs and entered into a discussion. Not advertised your latest hub.
And I noticed that you once again, have chosen not to interact on my opinion on your hub, despite the fact that's what you came here for. You would much rather have an argument.
Although, I am not sure how telling you that promoting your hubs on the forum is bad form is starting an argument.
Not surprising you feel that way. You are, by your own admission, perfect right?
Quite the contrary, but I imagine a lot of people feel superior to you. Hard not to really. I see you still didn't respond to the opinion that you asked me for. Interesting.
Can we not argue on this forum section please? I'd like the religion forum to be a place of non-spam, argument free and full of harmony and understanding.
Please?
I seem to remember you stating in an earlier thread that you are in no need of forgiveness... I assumed that meant you were perfect.
And I don't plan on responding to your opinion as it had absolutely nothing to do with the question I asked and was in reality yet another sad attempt to defame me.
Can we let this thread die now?
It starts with imagination then moves onto faith.

I've been on HubPages now for about 10 months and it took that long to generate 100.00, but since I hit my 100th hub or so my monthly revenue has gone up about 30.00 a month and I'm starting to see some decent change rolling in now.. seems a snowball effect happens when you get enough chump change...

I still think comments should be comments, not discussions, that is the purpose of a forum. Maybe it would be a good idea that every author has a forum automatically made in a widget on there profile page and the topics are always the title of the Hub. That way you can discuss it and always edit...

I guess the title says it all- I have a few published hubs and a few in the workds that I believe are well written and interesting to read, but I can't see many people finding them through google, what are some other good ways besides spaming links to promote it?This one of the hubs I was talking...

I can't seem to find an answer for this in the learning center. I have a large set of articles I've been writing for a while + some time on my hands to dedicate to Hubpages for the next couple of months. Would publishing 10 hubs a day benefit or disadvantage me, both in terms of hub score /...

While I'm being a policeman, I can't help noticing that there's a lot of self-promotion that goes on in the forums. Especially the "other topics" forums, where quite often you'll find posts with not much more than the link to the person's Hub.Surely the forums are places to discuss...

Should I keep my Hubpages account?I've been going back and forth on whether or not to just delete my account. I don't have much time to write anymore. Plus I haven't really made much money from it. To all the Long term hubers out there is it worth it to keep trucking on?
