I know there are other dimensions. I have seen the heaven light several times before. I was sixteen and my boyfriend died. The white light was there. I have seen it a few times after that and also I have seen a black tunnel like vortex/portal type of dimension. I don't know where it leads to. For all I know it could be like the black hole in our universe. We don't know where that leads either.

I do believe there is a dimension where people experience grief and suffering of all kinds. Only because I've seen those two dimensions and I have spiritual insight. Even when I seen the black tunnel like vortex open I didn't think for a moment that it could be the place called hell. Even though the white light --heaven's light was open on the ceiling and on the floor was the black tunnel like thing.

I know it sounds unbelievable but things like that have been common in my life. It is just as I live and breath.

*Hell appears to be more of a place dreamed up to make people submit to the church!!

      There is no hell!

This as Merlin Fraser says is just a way for the churches to keep you inline.

Constantine the first christian roman emporer found religoin to be a far better way to control the masses than using his armies so he twisted the bible to suit his needs.

This is why we have hell and the trinity and a few other garbage ideas about the bible.

Christmas and easter come from Constantine trying to fuse many beliefs in an attempt to get control.

I could be wrong with last statement, feel free to correct me.

Gehenna is the most used term as far a where we go in death but many passages make it clear that death is like sleep except you do not dream or think. Your dead!.

To believe that a god would make people suffer for eternity for there mistakes is wrong, and only adds to the skepticism surrounding the bible.

      White Atlantic,

I believe in Hell. I’ve been there. I used to be an atheist. (There were redeeming qualities, too, which I talk about in “Be Happy: an essay”). My point is hell isn’t a place (at least, not for me); it’s a state of mind, a state of being.

I recognize Hell as the separation from God. Divorcing yourself of God makes you gnash your teeth.

In death, we go to hell and heaven. Eternity isn’t merely an infinite of time; it’s no time at all. We experience existence at an instant so brief and so long that it ceases to be within the realm of time—but of choice. Heaven and hell last for as long as you want it to.

The Bible also talked about a New Heaven and New Earth. Being outside of time, we’ll likely reincarnate if we choose to.

These are just my subjective beliefs.

      Thanks,

      Dan

hell could also be translated common grave of mankind.  I do not think a loving god, would burn people eternally to be honest, hope that answers your question.

Heaven and Hell are merely man madeup terms as an overall part of the long term Church dominated past.

Be Good and you get your reward in Heaven... Be Bad and you go straight to Hell.

It keeps the party faithful in line, why else do you think they made up the story of God see all ?  Another line to keep you in line.

Can't for the life of me think why such out moded ideas still hold sway over an otherwise intellegent population.

There is no better intelligence then intellectual growth and spiritual insight my dear one.

Love and be loved in a world of learning. It would be a shame if you thought you die and that is the end of you. Why hell, you could do all kinds of crap and think you could get away with it. Lol.

What about karma, dreams that you submit to because of the insight. Your intuition. That gut feeling you get about things. The car accident that should have been worse but low and behold it wasn't! Miracles my dear boy, miracles speak loud and clear.

To deny angels when they have worked so hard in your life isn't very nice either!

      wink

you made interesting point out here but we also have to take into account the most important miracle in the universe and that is human brain...which is still unexplored thing and human brain is very very powerful thing...what we see in dreams or call miracles in general can be output from same brain too

        Ah Kimberly,
You know that as a lifelong Pagan I don’t subscribe to the one God theory and therefore the teachings and the threats of the Christian Church hold little fear for me.

However I do believe in the power of the human mind and I think that is where your Karma, intuition and insight come from.   It is certainly the source of all dreams whether they have an impact upon your life or not.

As for Hell, well that really is a Christian invention, and what makes you so sure I haven’t been up to all sorts of crap already ?   I like to think I conduct my life in a way that would make my parents proud and because doing right is a nice thing to do.

Sorry but I don’t believe in miracles and angels either, miracles suggests some sort of divine intervention and are more often than not are wrongly attributed to a nonexistent God rather than to the skill and bravery of mere human beings who carried out the feat and received little or no thanks or credit because someone else, who probably wasn’t even there takes the credid on behalf of God.

Anyway I better stop now I’m in enough trouble this week for suggesting that Man invented God and not the other way around and then going on to explain where and when this happened.  So I’d better keep my head down for a while.

All present descriptions of hell combine in our minds to paint an awful picture of doom and hopelessness. Indeed, hell is a place where there is absolutely no prospect of present or future blessings from God. It is a place of eternal punishment for all men who choose to disobey God.

hi ...kimberly........i cant undersand what you are saying..........iam coming from india.and i have seen lots of people around here through their whole life  suffering from all types of life's bitterness.........then what is the reason for them to frightened by the coming? hell in the next step(i mean after death).........I THINK FOR SOME PEOPLE,THERY WONT/CANT IMAGINE  FURTHER DIFFICULTIES BECAUSE THERE  IS NOTHING MORETHAN WHAT THEY SUFFERING NOW ITSELF.........or you just think about it ,whether it is as a result of human or not, some are suffering seriously.if you have seen around the world once.you wil undestand this.......and that people for their survival on earth simply believe or try to believe in HEAVEN.....these all are very pathetic condition....but we cant blame them....the concept of life after death makes them or inspires them to live or give them hope......in the same way .if one concept makes your and all others' living in this worls better there is no problem........nothing other than that......if we have no job.we can imagine anything.if you are a ordinary man trying hard to make a living i think he wont get any time to think about these madnesses........

  11. getitrite profile image72
    getitriteposted 14 years ago

There is simply no such place, and the whole concept is an absurd primitive concoction.

Hell would be the ultimate desire of an eternally spiteful, psychopathic, sadistic, revengeful, God to inflict on his creation, for minor offenses--like not believing in him.

What kind of sick mind would think that hell is a reasonable sentence for simply not believing in the hearsay of a book of myths.

You don't need to go far. Some people create their personal Hell and live in it and force other people to live in it.
Another example: Germain concentration camps during World War II... Hell on Earth.

Germans got off easy. fire bombing of japan  . that was a inferno. and on another note. hell isnt something that can be forced on another its something that is accepted. as humans we accept far to much inhumanity. only in its most extreme display do we as a species react to it. i think

According to the bible, Heaven is completely perfect and Hell is completely evil. In Heaven, in order to keep everything completely perfect, everyone in it would have to follow a long, specific set of rules for it to be perfect. Heaven is prison. In Hell, everyone is already evil there, so no rules need to be set to make it completely evil. Hell is freedom.
