      He was the founder of the Islam religion and it is said he was a prophet and it is written in the Q'aran. The Q'aran is a part of the old testament of the Holy Bible and they follow the laws of the land. They also fast and pray for 30 days during Ramadan. Ramadan is observed on the 9th month of the Muslim calendar and many Muslims are honestly very peaceful people.

      He was largely a peaceful man, who chose not to exact revenge on the population of Mecca after he'd been 'exiled'. However, there was an incident where his army massacred hundreds of Jews for allegedly siding with his enemies.

      As to whether or not he was a prophet who had revelations from God up in the caves above Mecca, it's a matter of faith for those that believe.

      Whether he was a teacher persecuted for voicing his beliefs or he was a prophet from God, it's hard to find anything negative about either.
