Free Help with Meditation

Updated on March 18, 2014

Meditation Help

Let me help you on your meditation journey though a variety of photos, videos and aids to help you learn the art of meditation.

Meditation isn't always easy to learn. However, there are many ways to enhance your meditation.

I know for myself, I prefer a meditation video to help clear my mind and allow me to relax. Otherwise, I can't focus well enough for the meditation to do any good.

Relaxing Nature Meditation

The good news is you don't have to run out and buy any DVDs to get some meditation videos. There are plenty of free ones on sites like youtube. I like this one because the music and nature sounds are so peaceful. Go ahead and give it a try. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths and just allow yourself to go with it. It's a wonderful way to refresh yourself.

Mandala Meditation

Some people enjoy looking at a mandala during meditation. They use the mandala as the source of the meditation. Here's one you can try. Take your time and really study the image.

Image Meditation

Sometimes looking at a simple image can aid in meditation. I recommend nature scenes. Here's one of a beautiful waterfall. Try envisioning being there in person and enjoying the sights and sounds of it.

Fire Meditation

Fire is another image that people enjoy looking at during a meditation. Think about how warm and cozy a fire in the fireplace is and how relaxing it can be. Try meditating on this fireplace image.

Meditation Mat

Be sure to be comfortable when meditating. I would recommend a good meditation mat. The more comfortable you are, the easier it will be for you to meditate. I know some people prefer the color black, but as blue is my favorite color, this mat would be the most appealing to me.

Guided Meditation for Beginners

I am lousy at just trying to meditate by myself. What works for me are guided meditations. This way I can focus on someone else's voice, which keeps my mind from wandering. Here is a video made especially for beginning meditators.

Meditation Candles

I love candles. I find them very relaxing, not to mention pretty. They help to create a nice atmosphere for a meditation. You can use them for decor or use one as the focus of a meditation. Here are some lovely ones to choose from that are for meditation.

Meditation for Healing

Meditation is used for a variety of reasons. A popular way is for healing. This can be in the form of physical healing, as well as emotional healing. Some people meditate for healing of others or even for things like healing the world. Here's a guided healing video.

Guided Chakra Mediatation

Chakras are energy centers located throughout the body. Another popular type of meditation is on the chakras. Here is a guided meditation on the heart chakra, which is associated with love.

Best Meditation Book

Meditation For Dummies (Book and CD edition)
Meditation For Dummies (Book and CD edition)

If you're just getting started with meditating, I highly recommend this book. It covers a little of everything having to do with meditation. It's been such a wealth of information for me.

Meditation Incense

Another way to enhance a meditation is through the senses. The aroma of incense helps some people to enjoy a peaceful meditation. I happen to love incense. It just makes me feel so relaxed.

Meditation Tip

Take your time when learning to meditate. It's a process that takes practice. Hopefully you have found some useful tools here to help you get started.

I'm amused you recommend the "Dummies" book. I was wondering what you would recommend for learning when I first clicked on the lens. I'll have to look into it, thanks.

What a great lens. Some of the images on your videos are so magical, I don't want to close my eyes. Absolutely enchanting! I have meditated in the past and still do it off and on. I think that my problem is, I don't keep it up long enough to learn how to keep my mind focused.

I have meditated before but just don't have the discipline to keep it up. There is always an excuse to keep putting it off!

I spent a year in meditation throughout 2007 - then "I" was illuminated, the ego fell away and true life began. Now I meditate only as needed to clear exposure to the lower levels of consciousness.

I know how to do meditation. There are some styles and techniques of meditation. One can start meditation by walking around and thinking the foot step reactions. I liked this lens, absolutely great lens for those who want to start mediation for the first time. Thank you.

For myself the only way I am able to be successful at it is meditating in the morning and the evening without fail. If I slack off even a bit, its to hard to get back to it. This was interesting and I like the guided meditations and photos.

One can find a 'quite place" at work and meditate...I use part of my lunch break to meditate and it helps me to cope with normal stresses( what I call normal) that are job related. Excellent resources for beginners and seasoned practitioners of the art.

I always thought to meditate meant you had to think of nothing, totally srtill your mind, but it makes sense that meditation can be just about being in the moment, and trying to keep your mind from drifting, and stay focused on that moment. Really enjoyed your lens!

Nicely done lens. My only tip is that meditating every day seems important for me, even if it's only for 5 minutes - though, of course, longer is better.

    • Aquavel profile image

No tip. Beautiful meditation lens! Never thought of gazing at a fire or flame as a meditative tool but after reading your lens, I realize it's as natural as looking at ocean waves, waterfalls or ripples in a pond. Made me think of the many times that people are in a meditative state without realizing it, myself including. And music & art are wonderful meditative enhancements. Enjoyed the vids too!
