Let me help you on your meditation journey though a variety of photos, videos and aids to help you learn the art of meditation.
Meditation isn't always easy to learn. However, there are many ways to enhance your meditation.
I know for myself, I prefer a meditation video to help clear my mind and allow me to relax. Otherwise, I can't focus well enough for the meditation to do any good.

Relaxing Nature Meditation
The good news is you don't have to run out and buy any DVDs to get some meditation videos. There are plenty of free ones on sites like youtube. I like this one because the music and nature sounds are so peaceful. Go ahead and give it a try. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths and just allow yourself to go with it. It's a wonderful way to refresh yourself.
Some people enjoy looking at a mandala during meditation. They use the mandala as the source of the meditation. Here's one you can try. Take your time and really study the image.

Sometimes looking at a simple image can aid in meditation. I recommend nature scenes. Here's one of a beautiful waterfall. Try envisioning being there in person and enjoying the sights and sounds of it.

Fire is another image that people enjoy looking at during a meditation. Think about how warm and cozy a fire in the fireplace is and how relaxing it can be. Try meditating on this fireplace image.

Be sure to be comfortable when meditating. I would recommend a good meditation mat. The more comfortable you are, the easier it will be for you to meditate. I know some people prefer the color black, but as blue is my favorite color, this mat would be the most appealing to me.

Guided Meditation for Beginners
I am lousy at just trying to meditate by myself. What works for me are guided meditations. This way I can focus on someone else's voice, which keeps my mind from wandering. Here is a video made especially for beginning meditators.
I love candles. I find them very relaxing, not to mention pretty. They help to create a nice atmosphere for a meditation. You can use them for decor or use one as the focus of a meditation. Here are some lovely ones to choose from that are for meditation.

Meditation is used for a variety of reasons. A popular way is for healing. This can be in the form of physical healing, as well as emotional healing. Some people meditate for healing of others or even for things like healing the world. Here's a guided healing video.

If you're just getting started with meditating, I highly recommend this book. It covers a little of everything having to do with meditation. It's been such a wealth of information for me.
Another way to enhance a meditation is through the senses. The aroma of incense helps some people to enjoy a peaceful meditation. I happen to love incense. It just makes me feel so relaxed.
Take your time when learning to meditate. It's a process that takes practice. Hopefully you have found some useful tools here to help you get started.
