GOD IS (Exists)

Consider yourself a juror at a trial over some incident or other. Would it seem odd to you if one attorney would constantly disallow every witness who had actually been at the scene of the incident. But would accept only those who had not been at the scene and their only knowledge of the incident was hearsay. (That would not be a true witness.) You would doubt the accuracy of the trial.

Unfortunately that is the way life is. Throughout history there have been literally millions of people who have known God personally. Who know that "God is", present tense. Have lived with him. Walked and talked with him. Have had their request granted by him. Who have been comforted and healed by him. Have had their needs met by him. And yes, corrected by him. But multitudes of biased people have totally ignored their "witness" in favor of their own prejudiced opinions.

It is my greatest desire that you would know God personally, and that God would fulfill your every need. Yes, that you could say with certainty that "God is." Hang around while we consider different aspects of God and his desire to help YOU.

Here is something you know - I hope.

-Sound waves

-Seismic waves

-Electromagnetic waves

-Gama rays

-Ultraviolet rays

-Infrared rays

-Radio waves

-Radar (Microwaves)

These cannot be seen with the naked eye. But they existed before they were "discovered". We had built in receivers for sound waves,

our ears, but the others we could not detect - even if they were benefiting us. So does that mean they did not exist until we invented them. Of course not. That would be as silly as my determining you can not think because I cannot see your thoughts.

Some people are that way with God. They cannot see him with their eyes, so they think he does not exist. They are not tuned into him and consequently do not think he exists. [Most likely because they do not want to acknowled him. To do so would be to recognize responsibilty to him.] But the fact remains, God is. God always has been. And God always will be. That is a comforting thought to those of us who are tired of constant change.

"God is Spirit,". He is in a different dimension than our material bodies. Let's tune in to him.

GOD IS trying to contact you. How do I know? He reaches out to everyone - in one way or another. Remember he is Spirit. So do not expect him to jump down in front of you like a stubborn donkey to block your way. Though he created all matter or material things and is master over it, he chooses many ways to try and get our attention. He also gave us a free will. We can choose to listen to him, or ignore him. But our problem is like when I am trying to read a book and my wife is trying to talk to me. I DON'T HEAR HER.

God uses:

-Our conscious.

-People who know him and try to tell you about him.

-The Holy Bible - his word to us.

-Natural disasters.

-Personal problems.

-Our health, or lack of it.

-His goodness to us

-Etc, etc, etc.

Having read the Bible for many years I learned one thing. Everything God did, both good and bad, to the nation of Israel was to try and get their attention. Unfortunately most of my life I would "look up" only when I was knocked down and could only look up. THAT WAY HURTS. Don't do it the way I did, or the nation of Israel. Start looking and listening.

The apostle Paul speaking of God said,

"He did this so that they would look for him, and perhaps find him as they felt around for him." -Acts 17:27 (TEV)

God loves you and is trying to get your attention. Look for and listen to the ways he is calling out to you.

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life." - John 3:16 (TEV)

Tired of your old life????? God wants to give you a brand new life. In fact it is necessary if we are going to spend forever with him.

When God was here on earth in human form as Jesus Christ he said,

"I am telling you the truth: no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again. " - John 3:3 (TEV)

We are further told, "Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come." - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (TEV)

God wants to give you a brand new life. One that starts deep down inside and works it's way out to everything in your life.

1. Recognize and admit that all of us have messed up (sinned) real bad. God said through the apostle Paul,

"... everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence." Romans 3;23 (TEV)

2. This sinning is going to kill us. Separate us forever from God and cast us into the Devil's hell.

"For sin pays its wage - death; but God's free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (TEV)

3. How do I get God's free gift of life??

"If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved." Romans 10:9,10 (TEV)

4. Pray out to God in what ever way you feel like, in your own way and words.

-Tell him you messed up - sinned against him and did your own thing, not his.

-Ask him to come into your life and take it over. To be your boss and run it from now on.

-Tell him to show you how to live with and for him. You are going with him from now one.

If you are honest and serious he will hear you and take you at your word.

All of us get to a point where we need help. And if you have lived very long, you know that you reach a point where all the self-help books in the world are not enough. Even friends and family cannot help in many situations. In fact, you need a miracle. The answer, "God is help".

"God is our shelter and strength,

always ready to help in times of trouble."

-Psalms 46:1 (TEV)

Take your problem to God. God is help.

But my problem is so big, it is impossible!

Then you need God's help. Quit looking to yourself or mankind. Turn to God for your help.

"For there is nothing that God cannot do."

-Luke 1:37 (TEV)

"Jesus answered,

'What is humanly impossible is possible for God.'"

-Luke 18:27 (TEV)

The very essence of God's character is love. Yes, he is a just God. A righteous God. A holy God. And as a result can be an angry God.

But he is LOVE. Probably the most popular and famous verse in all of God's Holy Word says;

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life."

-John 3:16: (GNB)

What has that got to do with the picture above? Those are some of my great grand kids. They are "making stuff" at one of my shops. I have spent a lot of time with those kids and have got to love them a lot. And they love their old grandpa. They hug him a lot and thrive on grandpa's hugs. And grandpa loves to be hugged by them.

This morning they were on my mind and I was wishing they were here to hug me. While I was longing for a hug from them God drew something to my mind. God longs for my hug, my love, just as this grandfather does.

God wants to love you and for you to love him in return.

"Come near to God, and he will come near to you."

-James 4:8 (GNB)
