It is only by giving that we can expand

It is through dying to concern for self that we are born to new life with God and others; in such dying and rebirth, we find that life is lent to be spent; and in such spending of what we are lent, we find there is an infinite supply. Glenn Olds

When you surround yourself with yourself you will find your life empty, meaningless and lonely. You will be a very bitter person. Joseph-Anthony: Green

When you live to serve others you will find your life to be very rich and fulfilling. I have preformed volunteer work in seniors homes, volunteering in hospitals and soup kitchens. I will share a secret with you: it has been the best time of my life. There are difficult times for sure, but the experience is a rewarding one that can only come from giving of yourself to others.

When you make a habit of helping others and being polite, you will find most of your days are very happy. You might be surprised at how good a simple thing like smiling and saying good morning to say a bus driver will make you feel, especially when you see their faces light up at such a simple act of kindness. Why not sit down and think of the people you meet every day and a simple act of kindness you can do for them. Then do it. It may be hard at first, but, when you get in the habit of doing it, it will become second habit to you.

Prayer: Father please open my eyes to how I can share a simple act of kindness with someone today and please give me the strength to do it. In Jesus’ wonderful name I pray. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day
