A Simple Way to Have Effective Prayer

How to Have Effective, Powerful Prayer.

: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer" (Ps. 19:14)

You know what I hate? Corporate Prayer in church. That is where they spend twenty minutes reciting a prayer. You know why I hate it? Because when you are in harmony with Jehovah you hate what He hates. Do you like it when someone gives you a phony apology or a phony thank you No of course not. It is insulting. So too it is with our prayers. When we just recite a prayer before a meal or in church or wherever it is insulting to Jesus.

“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Romans 8:15–16 (New International Version)

You want to have a powerful, effective prayer? Pray from the heart like you are talking with someone you deeply love and who deeply loves you. THEN your prayer will be effective. And you know what? I don’t know about you, but with me I feel really good after my prayers.

Jesus said to His disciples, "I am not going to call you slaves. I am going to call you friends" (John 15:15).

"For I do always those things that please him" (John 8:29). Prayer: Jehovah, my love, please move my heart to always have a sincere prayer when I talk with You. Move my heart to have a deep personal time with You because I love you and know You love me. Please always bless me with making our time together the most special time of the day. In our gracious savior Jesus Christs name I pray. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

Thank you femmeflashpoint.I agree femmeflashpoint. You might just as well be talking in the wind as to just recite pryers because Jesus isn't listening.

Thank you too DeBorrah. That is a beautiful comment.

Very nice Joe - and amen regarding canned prayer.

If we can't be personal enough to pray 'personally', I think the entire conversation would be a waste of time. :)
