Live Long and Live Abundantly

Updated on April 5, 2014

We as humans are considered at times to be weak and wretched beings. So often during our lives, are subject to substantial calamities and misfortunes. Unable to stop or predict dangers and unexpected casualties, we continue our journey in search of what the future holds in store for each of us.

We are without any doubt constantly under the protection of our Creator, and in His hands can rest assured of His never failing love, which will guide us, lead us through whatever uncertainty we enter, if only we would ask it of Him. Our creator, the Almighty Living God, knows our needs and is always ready to answer our prayer.

Having a firm reliance on our Creator for the grace and conveniences of life requires a dependable trust in Him for deliverance from all dangers and difficulties, which may befall us.

Living with this disposition of mind creates a comforting peace and a happy existence. When a person continually renews his mind with the Word of God, changes over a period, will happen in their life. Wisdom, knowledge and a powerful protective state of mind will surpass a depressive, dark and troubled soul.

Making our lives easier for us, we need to consider the commandment to put our Trust in our Creator, who is able to relieve and protect us. Reaping the benefits of every Divine element and losing our own inadequacy in the fullness of infinite protection. The future will become clearer, and we will have the foresight of the Omniscience of Him who supports us.

We, being motivated by His promises and the most powerful one is,

"I will not forsake thee or fail thee"

A consequential instruction, we all need to consider is,

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding"

Knowing such a powerful promise and following the guidance of trusting in the Lord can only have significant benefits. A person, who without hesitation acts with this knowledge when confronted by any danger or turmoil, will surely succor to success.

Trusting in the Lord and his promise will give confidence and radiate a joy for others to see. Over time, your happiness and confidence in the promise of the Lord will become natural, and your life will benefit from the ongoing success and joy experienced. Believing, and having faith without doubting the promise will ensure immense joy.

At the end of one’s life, it is this belief and trust in the Creator that will allow us confidence about the One who has conducted, guided and led us through all stages of life.

Knowing He will be with us, guide, and comfort us in the progress into eternity.

He lives.

Your mind is your prison or your freedom. The thoughts your mind dwells on will determine the quality of your life. You choose what you want by the thoughts you think. If you dwell on gloom and negativity, then doom and gloom will be forthcoming. Choose thoughts that are good and positive and soon your life will benefit from the purity of your mind.

Remember Paul who confined to four prison and with precarious physical conditions, yet he sang and rejoiced always in the Lord. He did not dwell on his misfortune and experienced true happiness even in those vexing conditions.

The Lord is always near. Be anxious for nothing, but let your requests by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving be known to the Lord.

Finally, remember the very important instruction – Philippians 4:7-8

And things which are good, and pure, and perfect, and lovely, and of good report, think on these things and the peace of God which transcends all understanding shall keep your heart and mind in through Jesus Christ.

An entomologist and his friends walked down a busy street. Suddenly the doctor began walking faster and turned around to his friends who stepped up their pace to keep up with him. “Listen!” He said, and his friends only heard the roar of the passing traffic. They told him all they heard was the traffic, but the doctor also told them to listen. Unsure of what they were supposed to hear they waited. The doctor bent over and under a stone, was a cricket.

“How did you hear the sound from the cricket?” A friend enquired.

“Everyone hears with his heart and more so when it is beneficial to him” The doctor said.

We must have a desire to hear what is important in our lives, and continually ask the Lord to make our hearing sensitive to his voice.

There was a donkey who fell into an empty pit hole. The donkey was sad, and for hours, he cried. The farmer wondered how he would get the animal out of the hole and finally decided that it was not worth it. After all, he thought the donkey was old and would eventually have to be replaced.

He called all his neighbors and asked them to come and help. With their shovels, they began to collect sand and dirt and throw it into the well. The donkey recognized what was happening and began to cry even louder.

To everyone's surprise, the donkey suddenly stopped crying. The farmer threw some more sand and dirt into the hole and decided to look down to see what was happening. He was astonished at what he saw, for each shovel of dirt that fell onto the donkey he managed to climb with each shovel of dirt and making a platform for himself, he stepped over the side and galloped away.

The lesson learned here is to remember:
Life is sometimes like mud with all sorts of dirt thrown at us.

The trick is to shake it off and take a step to overcome.

Each of our concerns is a step. We can move from the depths and try never to give up.

Shake it off and take a step up.

This is a story passed down in history and originally written by an anonymous person.

It is a well-known fact that eagles know when a storm is approaching long before it breaks.

The eagles will fly towards a high spot and wait for the winds to come.

When the storm arrives, the eagle will move its wings in a position and allow the wind to pick it up higher than the storm.

While the storm rages below, the eagle soars above.

The eagle of course does not break away from the storm it only uses the storm to raise it higher. The eagle rises on the winds brought on by the storm.

Now in our life, we also have storms and all at times will experience them. We don’t like them but will have to overcome.

We can rise about the storms of life by focusing our minds on God. It is of course our choice. We can overcome the storm or let the storm become a destroying factor in our lives.

We can choose to accept God’s power to lift us above the storm and chaos. Our mighty Father enables us to ride the winds of the storm of sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives.

Choose to soar above the storm, and you will be like the eagle and succeed.

The Bible says:

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles."

Isaiah 40:31
