Heidi, a beautiful page - Whitney Houston's song brings me to tears, I haven't listened to it in a while, and it's an incredible reminder about the meaning of life - I think about her struggles with addiction, and people in my own family who have traveled this road, and my heart is filled with compassion for those who battle this. Your page comes at a much needed time for me. Thank you.

@Jerzimom: Thank you so much CherylFay for your personal and very real sharing on that sometimes frustrating topic of 'waiting on God'. It's the frustration of 'now' that gets us sometimes :) Thanks for your usual visit. Enjoy the rest of your week and have a blessed weekend.

Sometimes it is hard waiting on a answer. We think it needs to be one way but God has a plan for what that answer should be. We need to be open to it being answering in a way we not expect. I've had some rough situations to deal with and just want them answered now but I know that can't be. I have to be patient; that's just how it is. It's hard and tears are shed but in the end.... God will answer out prayers. Be patient; be strong!

@PAINTDRIPS: Thank you so much for your sharing those 2 perspectives,DeniseMcGill - your experience and your daughters' experiences with waiting on God. Indeed, it must break God's heart when he sees us miserable over the fact that He, in His wisdom, has denied us something definitively or at a particular time in our lives. I know how that feels but what I do is take my heart's desire and/or disappointment to God (much like Hannah did in the Bible) and conclude by telling Him, His will be done. Not in resignation but in faith that with whatever the outcome God has worked or will work things together for my good. I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year!

I find I don't always ask the RIGHT things from God and it is really great that He doesn't give me those. Wisdom and age have helped a lot in my perspective of waiting on God. He has perfect timing and I do not. Still I have the worst time helping my daughters when they are crying "Why doesn't God give me this or that?" It breaks my heart when they cry. I'm sure it breaks His heart too.

@serendipity831: Indeed serendipity831! Unanswered prayers are blessings (I can attest to that) and those are 2 powerful women. in fact, I have a daily meditation book by Iyanla Vanzant titled 'Acts of Faith' which I have been using daily since 2008/2009. If you don't have it, you should try getting a copy. You will be inspired. Thanks for visiting and sharing. I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year!

I believe every thing happens for a reason and God gives you what you need, when you need it and are able to receive it. Unanswered prayers are gifts from God. I gain much inspiration and spiritual guidance from Maya Angelou and Iyanla Vanzant. I truly believe these two woman are Angels sent from God, helping me on my journey through the teachings they put out into the world. Thank you for sharing this blessing of a lens.

I've had very sincere prayers go unanswered for years, suddenly to be answered powerfully. It's difficult when we pray for something that makes sense to us, but may not be right - or it may be right, but not something we should have immediately. A major part of prayer is determining what God wants, rather than demanding He give us things we want or think we need.

@Lady Lorelei: So very true Ladymermaid! In fact, as I read your comment here I was thinking of Beyonce's song "The best thing that NEVER happened to me" where she ends a relationship with someone who in retrospect she was happy she broke up with after she found true love. God is GREAT! And in our narrow view of things, we sometimes cannot understand why God is not granting us what we so desperately and earnestly ask for but He sees the big picture.Thank you so much for visiting and sharing Ladymermaid! Enjoy what's left of your weekend and have a blessed week ahead.

There is a song called unaswered prayers and some of the events in are truly heart warming. He meets the love of his life because his earlier prayers went unanswered. Sometimes we truly need to clear away some of the clutter in our lives to truly find where we are destined to travel.

@denetraharris: Just pray without ceasing, dyharris, as the Holy Bible encourages us. I will also lift up your daughter in prayer; God will know who I mean even though I don't personally know you or your daughter. The Bible says that if 2 or more of us shall agree on anything it will be granted. So I stand in agreement with you that your daughter WILL give herself to God. Have a blessed week dyharris and do not lose heart. You are giving your daughter the best gift that she will ever receive from you - your prayers. One day soon she will appreciate it, thank you for it and benefit from it.

@Loretta L: The Bible says that if 2 or more of us shall agree on anything it will be granted. So I stand in agreement with you that you WILL become fit and well again, Lovelifelaughter!I don't know how long you have been waiting but the Bible gives us sure hope because we know of people who waited loooooonnnnng but received God's best for them. The woman with the issue of blood waited 12 years while spending all she had on doctors and cures and in an instant she was healed by touching Jesus' cloak. The Israelites waited for 40 years before they could get to the promised land. Keep courage Lovelifelaughter! May God bless and keep you and have a blessed weekend.

@Diana Wenzel: You're welcome RenaissanceWoman2010 and thank you for visiting and sharing. In addition to your prayer for a search for a new ministry please also prayer that God will give you clear guidance of what he wants you to do. I say this because sometimes we feel that we should go a certain way but the Holy Spirit wants us to do otherwise. A good biblical example is Acts 16:7 - When they [Paul and Silas] reached the border of Mysia, they tried to go into the province of Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. Have a blessed weekend and my God answer your prayer and bless you in whatever ministry he has in store for you.

This is such an important topic. I think the key when waiting for a prayer to be answered is to offer up gratitude in advance for the answer that is in the works. My biggest prayer right now is a search for a new ministry. Thank you for all of these resources. Appreciated!

I always say there are no coincidences because I have seen time and time again how God just works all things together for good; something someone said, somebody he sent my way, a premonition i had etc. I am an avid reader so I will definitely look for your recommended book - God winks. Have a blessed week.

A year ago we lost our baby in at 21 weeks. My wife and I have wanted a baby so bad and we have been praying to God to give us a family and then back at the first of march 9 months to the date that we lost our first child, God blessed us with being pregnant with another child. We are now 20 weeks into the pregnancy and Dr's are saying everything is looking good. All I have to say is that God is good and deserves all the honor and praise.

Great lens and blessed by a Squid Angel. Have you ever read "Godwinks?" It is an amazing book that shows how God uses coincidence to let us know he is there. Those little times someone says something to you and then you immediately hear it on the radio or see it on TV? That is a Godwink! Fascinating stuff but it has helped me experience his presence on a daily basis and although he answers prayers in his own time, you know he is there. I also recommend a video (available for free on youtube) called The Star of Bethlehem Explained: Frederick A. Larson. In this, he talks about the stars and planets were all put into place and everything was planned for the birth of Jesus, from the beginning of time. It is mind boggling. Hope you can get to both of those. Nice to see other Christians on here!
