I love to share the Gospel Of Jesus Christ with all who will listen. I love my family with all of my heart. I love arts, crafts and reading.

"LIKE A TREE THAT'S PLANTED BY THE WATER...I SHALL NOT BE MOVED."

"SHE STOOD IN THE STORM"

I was watching an interview that had taken place with Elizabeth Edwards sometime back and at the closing of her interview they read an excerpt from her book which spoke of her children that went as follows:

"I DO KNOW WHEN THEY ARE OLDER AND TELLING THEIR OWN CHILDREN ABOUT THEIR GRANDMOTHER, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SAY THAT SHE STOOD IN THE STORM, AND WHEN THE WIND DID NOT BLOW HER WAY-AND IT SURELY HAS NOT- SHE ADJUSTED HER SAILS" (Elizabeth Edwards)

I was touched deeply by these words and thought what an awesome legacy to leave behind. I truly hate that she was given the blows that were given to her in life, she seems to have loved her family so deeply, John included and it breaks my heart to see someone give so much and get so little in return. However, she seems to have captured life's very essence, it's absolute truths and purpose. We all have storms to face. We have howling winds and waves to conquer. True that ours may not be the same or as hard and hurtful as others but, we have them none the less. Oh that we all could say "WE STOOD IN THE STORM"! I am convinced faith was her strength. I am convinced faith in God is our only strength and our only hope!

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

We all have purpose in and for our lives. He is the author and illustrator of those lives, so it is only fair that He be given the control. He has the power to change things and if he chooses to do so then sobeit. However, if he chooses to let life take it's appointed course, you can be assured there WAS and IS a purpose.

We are sometimes selfish, as it is in our nature to be so, and we want to know "that purpose" or see "that purpose" fulfilled so we can boast or brag about how important we think we are but, your purpose may not take place for years or even decades after you're gone. Someone will be changed or enlightened, made stronger or brought to their knees because of "YOUR PURPOSE". Now, you may not live an extraordinary life and no one will remember your name being in lights or on a billboard of sorts but, your family will remember you. Why not leave them the legacy of your life? Live to make them aware of the extraordinary power of knowing Jesus Christ as a personal savior. Let him be Lord of your life, so as to become strong and faithful, dependable and courageous or just simply a believer who lived to their fullest potentials and gave all to reach the lost for Jesus. Either way we must live to have a purpose in life. Make it a purpose to share hope, peace and strength to stand. Make it a purpose to share Christ daily!

I pray when I am gone that my children and grandchildren can say:

"SHE STOOD IN THE STORM AND WHEN THE WINDS DID NOT BLOW HER WAY, SHE ADJUSTED HER SAILS! (and hopefully they can add the following) : SHE ADJUSTED THEM TOWARDS CHRIST, HER EVERLASTING HOPE AND PEACE! SHE SAILED LIFE'S SEAS ON A SHIP WHOSE CAPTAIN WAS GOD'S ONLY SON, JESUS CHRIST, AND THAT SHIP WAS BOUND FOR GLORY AND ONCE SHE CROSSED THAT SEA, HER SHIP LANDED ON THE SHORES OF HEAVEN, WHERE SHE WILL WAIT AND WATCH THE LIGHT SHE LEFT SHINING HERE ON EARTH, AS WAS HER PRAYER, LEAD HER LOVED ONES TO THAT SAME SHORE!"

I suppose I am feeling a little sentimental today. I've seen several sad stories take place right here at Christmas time but, I was so deeply touched by the interview with Elizabeth Edwards this morning, that I had to set down and share. I pray that my words have touched you in some way. They are simple, I know but, they are my truths and my beliefs. They are what I choose to live on daily. I fail miserably somedays and cry out to him for forgiveness and strength, both of which, always and without fail, comes my way. I am human and have many flaws but, my Lord loves me and chooses to overlook them all and guide me to be a better version of myself with each waking morning and for this, I am so very thankful, as I cannot make it on my own. I need his wind and waves to keep my ship sailing and moving forward.

"HAVING DONE ALL TO STAND, STAND THEREFORE..."

Ephesians 6: 12-17

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.?

" Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.:

" For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]."

" Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

I pray you are blessed with a wonderful Christmas Season and have a very Happy New Year!

Your Friend In Christ,

Karen Foster

Thanks so much 2patricias! I was told the same from another Hubber. I appreciate the fact that others will take time to answer. I had tried that, but apparently my program wasn't working properly (wink, wink) I shall try it again. Thanks again.

I noticed somewhere else that you had tried to load a photo. Sometimes photos are too large. What I do is compress photos for webpages, and then load them. You may well have a photo editor already on your computer.

If you do, when you look at your photos you should see something in the top bar saying something like 'photo editor'. What I have is Windows photo editor, and it will compress photos to take up less space.

If you haven't got this, try reducing the dimensions of your photo.
