The faith that gets results

Updated on December 23, 2014

Faith in faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for , the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

When we talk about faith we must understand that faith comes by hearing the word of God, but faith within itself should not be magnified. Many people have faith in their faith when Jesus said in Mark 11:22 to have faith in God. Another translation says that faith is the title deed. Every home owner knows that if they have the title deed to the house, then they own the house. Let's take a closer look at the faith that gets results...

7 Facts About the Faith That Get Results

The faith that get results must not only believe God, but must also take corresponding action because faith without works is dead being alone.(James 2:17)

  1. A person must continually speak God's word:

For example if a person is believing for provision, they must get Philippians 4:19 which says my God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and use it as a foundation for believing God for provision. God honors his word, and to rehearse back to him what he has said helps bring results.

  2. One must be willing to wait on the promise to come to pass.

Ecclesiastes 3 says to everything there a time and season to every purpose.

  3. The faith that gets results is never double minded:

James 1 says that a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways and let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. To be double minded is to have two minds, for example you believe God and the next minute you don't. Faith consistently believes God and his word.

  4. The faith that get results does not murmur and complain while believing God.
  5. The faith that get results does not doubt but believes that whatsoever things it desires it receives.

The woman that had the issue of blood for twelve years believed in her heart that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus garment that she would be made whole. When she touched his hem and received her healing Jesus commended her faith that got results by saying in Mark 5:34..."Daughter thy faith has made thee whole"

  6. The faith that gets results also speaks the desired request into existence:

The centurion told Jesus to just speak the word only and his servant would be made whole. Jesus had other plans in the beginning because he says in Matthew 8:7 "I will come and heal" but the centurion said I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. The centurion spoke his desired request into existence because Jesus gave him his request and commended his faith by saying I have not found so great faith in Israel.

  7. The faith that gets results worships the Lord:

The Syrophenician woman worshipped Jesus in Matthew 15:25 and Jesus commended her faith that got results by saying woman great is thy faith.

The faith that gets results must not only believe God,but must also take corresponding action (James 2:17)

5 Types of biblical faith

  1. Great Faith:

The faith that Jesus spoke well of

  2. Strong faith:

This was the faith Abraham possessed (Romans 4:20)

  3. Weak faith (Romans 4:19)
  4. Little faith:

The faith that gets one started but does not finish, Peter possessed this faith while beginning to walk on the water, but took his eyes off of Jesus and began sinking. As he cried Lord save me, Jesus said o ye of little faith wherefore didst thou doubt? (Matthew 14:31)

  5. No faith

Jesus said unto his disciples why are ye so fearful? how is it that you have no faith?

The faith that gets results only needs to be the size of a mustard seed (Luke 17:6)

When results are slow in coming

Abraham the father of faith was weak in believing God for the promise of a son. In Genesis 12 God had promised to bless him so he could be a blessing, to make his name great along with the promise of a son. The odds were in the favor of it not happening due to the old age of himself and Sarah his wife. Are you believing God for an impossible situation? Sometimes one must believe for a long time because Hebrews 11 says through faith and patience they inherited the promises.

When results are slow in coming the Christian must guard against settling for less which is another way of saying maybe God cannot bring this miracle to pass. The bible says is there anything too hard for God? and the answer is of course no! Abraham and Sarah settled for Ishmael which was a person's humanistic way of helping out a Spiritual God. Ishmael's that are created in an attempt to help God out take up a tremendous amount of time because in the beginning they must be nurtured and pampered until they grow and actually become a part of the individual so when God's promised blessing which was Isaac does come along there is a problem that God never intended. There was a big problem in the house between Sarah, Ishmael and Hagar the maid servant of Abraham.

In the final analysis God told Abraham to dismiss Hagar and his son Ishmael from the house which was a painful thing for him to do. For the Christian to save themselves from heartache and pain when results are slow in coming remember:

Hebrews 11:6 which declares that without faith it is impossible to please God for he that comes to him must believe that he is and that he is a re warder of them that diligently seek him. True faith has corresponding action which pleases God while unbelief displeases him because of the human mind and self will to figure things out. The reward is based on diligence which means a person must be consistent and persistent until the answer comes.

A picture of diligence is water eroding away rock formations over an extended period of time. In the short term nothing would happen as the water beating upon the rock formations would seem useless, but over time the difference can been seen. When results are slow believing God's word consistently is like the water against the rock, the impossible situation will be granted.
