Who are You Listening to?

Updated on July 26, 2012

Do not be rude

Whose opinion matters the most?

“Does this sound as if I am trying to win human approval? No indeed! What I want is God's approval! Am I trying to be popular with people? If I were still trying to do so, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10 The English Version).

Do you see what Paul is saying? He is not in a popularity contest with others. He is centered on God.

Do your classmates tease you because you wear glasses or have a lot of zits?

“Beauty does not last; but a [person] who fears the Lord will be greatly praised” (Proverbs 31:30).

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God” (1 Peter 3:3-4).

You know, people are always teasing me because I don’t have the latest mobile phone. My reply is:” Can I receive or send tex messages yes or no? Can I receive or send phone calls yes or no? Then, what more do I need? Look at you. Do you really need all those toys? Aren’t you stupid for paying all that much more money for the name? Mine works as good as yours, but you paid so much more than me. Isn’t that stupid?” They embarrassingly leave me alone.

People tease me because my computer is old. My reply: “Does it still function properly? Because you buy a new one every year aren’t you contributing to polluting the environment? Where do you think your “Old” computer goes when you through it out?” Again they embarrassingly leave me alone.

People tease me because I am fat. My reply:” With exercise and diet I can lose my fat, what will it take for you to lose your rudeness? “

Why do you think people do these vile deeds? Could it be because of pride? I am better than you.

How would you feel if the person you were teasing committed suicide because of what you said or got a rifle and started killing people because of what you said? That’s an exaggeration, you say. Is it? Have you been hibernating? Almost always when someone goes on a killing spree, the people who are targeted are the ones that were bullying the shooter. Something to think about before you go making fun of someone.

One thing I have noticed is it is almost always the women that are the ones mocking me. Why do you think women are so shallow (I know I am stepping on some toes ladies, but it is the truth)?

Do you not believe there is a God of justice? Do you not think He will return you wicked deeds back on you in some time and place where it will hurt the most? If someone commits suicide because of your poisonous words, don’t you think their blood will be on your hands on judgment day?

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:18-19

When you are the victim of a bully, take heart. Jesus has an enduring love for you. Run into His strong gentle loving arms. He will sooth you hurt and pain. Do not seek revenge. Rather leave it in the hands of one who knows how to properly administer true justice. "Forgive them, less your precious heart because bitter like a lemon rather than sweet like a cherry." Joseph- Anthony: Green

For He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 8:5

"The Lord says, I am the one who strengthens you. Why should you fear mortals, who are no more enduring than grass?" (Isaiah 51:12 The English Version)

Prayer: Jesus my Rabbi (Jesus our teacher) please help me to always be open to listening to and obeying Your wise voive in my life. In Your magnificent name I Pray. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      Hi teaches.

      I agree.

That is why I always try to wait and pray for three days before making any decisions.

      God bless you.

Great thoughts once again, TeacherJoe. I always try to focus on what the Word would say about a situation before acting upon it. Thanks for the inspiration today.

Great hub, filled with encouraging words. The most important thing indeed is how we are in the eyes of the Holy God. Thank you for sharing this wonderful hub. Blessings to you always. Best regards.

Hi Mhatter. It was in the land of Uz with Job that God did a great job

I agree Nikki. I cherish the wisedom God blesses me with.

Yes Micheal, I too pray every morning:Show me where You want me to go. Teach me what You want me to do and say so that not only will praise be brought Your way but so too will the little lost sheep.

      God bless you.

One of the things I pray for is to ask God to lead me on the path He wants me to follow, then thank God for helping me to follow the path. God and Jesus Christ are the ones who know what is the best, thank God for everything.

Thank you for this. In my present condition I turn to: "In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job."
