Why the Master seeks the Disciples?
Do you know that our 'self', our 'atma' is blissful? When a seeker becomes self-realized he becomes blissful and that is the quality of being spiritual.
A spiritual person experiences bliss every moment of his life; because of this bliss his consciousness becomes vaster and vaster.
The capacity to love and to be loving increases according to the experience of the bliss. Because of his all-pervading love, a spiritual person becomes identified with the whole universe, he loses his separate identity and becomes one with the existence or you can say that his individuality gets merged in the existence and he shares his bliss with others.
It becomes very difficult for him to contain his bliss within himself. He genuinely wants to share it with the whole world. Do you know that just as the heart yearns for the bliss, in the same way it longs to bestow it on others after attaining it?
There is a basic difference between bliss and happiness. Happiness always depends on outer things, on outer circumstances. Satisfaction of the senses (beauty, taste, smell, sound, touch) gives us the happiness that is temporary.
A happy person may or may not have sympathy for others but he also likes to share his happiness with others in his own way. He cannot share other people's misery. But he wants others to partake in his happiness. That is why he likes to be in the company of friends while merry-making.
But bliss is quite different. It is the inherent of our being, of our soul. Bliss is not dependent on any outer cause. The source of bliss is within us. We have to seek it there. The outcome of bliss is love. Because of his love a spiritual person becomes compassionate and he wants to bestow his inner joy on others also. A spiritual person is like a flower that has blossomed in wilderness. Its fragrance spreads far and wide. Anyone can enjoy it going in that direction.
But just as there are very few people who enjoy the fragrance of a flower, in the same way there are very few people who are ready to receive love and bliss of an awakened person who is ever ready to give his love without any condition. But a person receives it according to his receptivity. It also depends on the sensitivity, simplicity and innocence of his heart. When it rains the water gets accumulated only where there is depth in the ground.
The spiritual person is too keen to tell people about the source of his bliss but the pity is that most of the people are just not interested in it. Even if they go to him they ask him to bless them with worldly things. They cannot understand that the cause of their unhappiness is the disturbed state of their mind. If it becomes peaceful then their attitude towards life will also change.
But people do not want peace of mind. They want wealth, power and position. That is why a master has to wait for a real seeker who is capable of receiving his love and bliss. Only a genuine seeker has the courage to know the source of bliss.
