Potential Lineups

The Caps lineup will have a very familiar look as it will be the 7th consecutive game this group have iced together. Changes to the lineup are scarce and only occurring due to injuries to main skaters. As the current 2nd best team in the standings it is obvious that the Caps have received offense from all 4 lines and also helped by the blueliners including likely Norris trophy candidate John Carlson. It is highly likely the lineup will look like the following:

8 Ovechkin
19 Backstrom
43 Wilson
13 Vrana
92 Kuznetsov
77 Oshie
62 Hagelin
20 Eller
14 Panik
28 Leipsic
26 Dowd
21 Hathaway

6 Kempny
74 Carlson
9 Orlov
3 Jensen
34 Siegenthaler
33 Gudas

Ilya Samsonov v Louis Domingue

Ilya Samsonov has had a thrilling start to the season for a rookie goaltender. Backing up Braden Holtby who has been indifferent recently is no easy task as Samsonov has had to wait a while between starts. When called upon Samsonov has helped the Caps massively with numerous big saves. Also helping the Caps with big wins against divisional rivals like Columbus and Carolina who have recently had success when facing Holtby.
