2010 - 2011 NHL FREE AGENT SIGNINGS AND TRADES *UPDATED DAILY*
Anaheim Ducks And NY Islanders Make A Trade
James Wisnieski was traded late yesterday from the Anaheim Ducks to the New York Islanders for a 3rd round pick in 2011, all this coming just after James Wisnieski just signed a 1 year deal at $3.25 Million per year to avoid arbitration.
Wisnieski had 3 goals and 27 assists in 69 games last season. He never reached the full 82 game mark for the season due to the suspension he received as a result of the head shot that he gave former teammate and Chicago Blackhawk Brent Seabrook. Wisnieski also had 102 blocked shots and 129 hits for Anaheim last season.
This was a good trade for the NY Islanders and further progress in the rebuilding stage, That is as long as they keep him for longer than his current 1 year contract.

HAWKS SIGN DEFENSEMEN PROSPECT NICK LEDDY
The Chicago Blackhawks have come to an agreement with prospect Nick Leddy. The details of the contract are reported to be a 3 year deal worth $2.7 Million.
Leddy was taken in the 2009 NHL Draft with the 16th pick overall by the Minnesota Wild. He was then traded to the Hawks last February in a deal involving Cam Barker going the other way to the Wild.
The 5'11 and 179 pound Leddy played last season in college for the University of Minnesota. He is expected to be in the Hawks regular lineup within the 3 year deal that he just signed. He is scouted as a real smooth skating puck moving defenseman that can potentially quarterback the power-play in the future for the Hawks.
