The second round of the NBA playoffs are about to begin, so now it is time to get your predictions in for each of the match ups, so you can either scratch your head or say "I told you so". Each series will be analyzed and then predicted. Although, the exact amount of games for each series will not be, as that can be tricky business.

Will Kobe and the Lakers take the next step towards a sixth NBA title on Bryant's watch or will the Durantula stop them cold in their tracks? Will the Spurs take the next step toward their fifth NBA title in the Duncan era? Will the Heat take the next step towards erasing last year's disappointment and earning LeBron his first NBA trophy? Can the Celtics make a run out of their last hoorah together? There are so many questions and more that will be answered shorty, but why not get them here first?

Last series my predictions went 6-2. My only real loss was the Clippers vs. Memphis series, the other one came from the Bulls series...well who could have predicted a season ending injury for Derrick Rose? Had Rose not gone down, I would have easily gone 7-1, but as they say coulda ..shoulda ..woulda. Here were my first round predictions if you are interested.

Now, it's time for me to make some more money predictions. This time hopefully without season ending injuries spoiling my accuracy. Then you can decide via a poll which team you think will win each of the 8 different series. Now, it is time to get the basketball bouncing as tip off is about to begin!

Who wins the Spurs vs. Clippers Series?

Western Conference

#1 Spurs vs. #4 Clippers

Series Analysis and Predictions: The Spurs are looking unstoppable after their first round series. San Antonio was hoping to get revenge on the Grizzlies for last season's early first round exit. Instead they get the upstart Clippers who are looking to shock the world and make it to the Western Conference Championships. The Spurs went 2-1 against the Clippers during the regular season. Even though Butler played after his hand injury, the Clip Show is banged up. Further injuries to Blake Griffin and Chris Paul will not help either. The Spurs on the other hand are extremely healthy, well rested, and the deepest team in the league. The Spurs were tied for the best record in the league with Chicago and they are the best team left in the playoffs. San Antonio has ripped off 14 straight games (10 regular season and 4 in the playoffs). They do lose a game or two in this series, but not enough. The Clippers season ends here. Spurs roll.

Final Outcome: Spurs Won Series 4-0

Final Analysis: The Clippers were just too banged up to really hang with the Spurs for an entire game. They did it only once and still lost. San Antonio knocked the wind out of the Clippers' sails as soon as they came back from a mid-twenty point deficit in game three. It really wound't have mattered much if they had been healthy. San Antonio has pulled off their second straight sweep in the 2012 playoffs and has not lost a single game, regular season or playoffs, since April 11th. The Spurs are just too battle tested, too talented, too healthy, and too focused. San Antonio moves on the Western Conference Championships to play the Thunder.

Who will win the Thunder vs. Lakers series?

See results

#2 Thunder vs. #3 Lakers

Series Analysis and Predictions: This is Kobe's last best shot to win a sixth NBA title before that team gets blown up. After this year, it all goes down hill from there, so he will be motivated. The Durantula is hungry for his first title, so he can call himself and his teammates what Kobe has in the past, NBA champs. The Lakers barely escaped the first round with their lives against a mediocre Denver team. However, now they have Metta World-Peace back. A tough series is won late by the Thunder, as they have revenge on their minds for the the Harden incident. Thunder win.

Final Outcome: Thunder Won Series 4-1

Final Analysis: The Lakers two series appearances during the 2012 playoffs gave the world a glimpse of just how disfuntional this team is. They showed inconsistency galore in the first round, un-cohesiveness in the second, and will now deal with a tumultuous off season one that will most likely see this team broken apart into several directions. The Thunder were just too young, too athletic, and too motivated after the James Harden incident early in the year. Three games were close, but that is no consolation to the Lakers whom the Thunder dispatched in just five games. The Mike Brown era has been a disaster for Lakers fans thus far and things will only seemingly get worse. Kobe's run of championships could be over for good. Phil Jackson is long gone and so is the Lakers playoff mojo. Thunder move on to meet the Spurs.

Who wins the Pacers vs. Heat series?

See results

#2 Heat vs. #3 Pacers

Series Analysis and Prediction: The Heat rolled over an injured and weak New York Team. The Pacers had a nice solid run this season, but Miami is built for the playoffs and hungry to get back after falling in the championship series last season. Heat are just too tough for the Pacers despite Indiana's great run. Heat roll.

Final Outcome: Heat Won Series 4-2

Final Analysis: The Bosh injury threatened to derail this prediction. It looked as though Indiana had gotten the break they needed. Miami looked slow and limping as they became just a two trick pony. Half way through game four that all changed as LeBron and Wade finally came alive and since that time the Heat dominated a soft and inexperienced Pacers team. Larry Bird, Indiana's GM, even called out the Pacers for being soft. They were just missing that killer mentality as well as a super dominant superstar to help get them over the hump. As predicted Miami moves on to the Eastern Conference finals and will await the winner of the Boston / Philadelphia series, which will conclude Saturday night.

Who will win the Celtics vs. 76ers series?

See results

#4 Celtics vs. #8 76ers

Series Analysis and Prediction: The 76ers became just the third team in NBA history to take down a #1 seed as the #8 seed, but that was for uncontrollable reasons, more than for great play. Celtics have one last run inside of them before that team gets blown up. This is the Celtics last hoorah and they show it. Celtics in a tough series late.

Current Outcome: Celtics Won Series 4-3

Final Analysis: As predicted the Celtics playoff experience would come into play in this series. The 76ers had a nice run, but it just wasn't enough to get them to the Eastern Conference finals. They accomplished a lot more than expected this season partly due to great play and partly due to luck. Either way, Boston rolls.

With Bosh out indefinitely, the Heat-Pacers series became more interesting to watch. There could be a possible upset here, really. But I think the Heat will still win, at 7!

As a Pacers fan you did just get lucky and they could go farther than 5 or 6. Bosh is out indefinitely...

I did pick the Spurs to win it at the beginning of playoffs because they had the hot hand going in. OKC is looking really good right now against the Lakers. That will be a good series. I don't see the Clips taking the Spurs past five games.

BigP..good thing my Spurs traded Hill to the Pacers for the right to pick Kawli Leonard! That kid is a stud and we ended up with a better back up in Patty Mills anyway...Heat win in 5..thanks to all for reading and commenting. Spurs RULE strike shortened seasons!!

The Pacers did not play well and still had a chance to win today's game in Miami. Granger and George were brutal the whole game and the team could not make a free throw down the stretch, yet they led the first three quarters. I don't know if the Pacers have enough to win the series, but they are a lot better than the Heat bargained for. I think it will go six.

I watched the first game of the Celtics vs. 76ers series and was really mad. The Celtics look pathetic in offense missing so many shots. They got lucky to put a good run of scoring during the 4th quarter. I'm sure there will be more heart attack games like these coming up.

I think that the Thunder & Heat will definately progress...not so sure about the other two series at this stage, Spurs look hot and Celtic should go through. Cheers Michael
