Who wins second round tie
Shirak F.C an Armenian football club traveled to San Marino to face SP Tre Penne in their second leg meeting. Shirak won the first leg 3-0 behind a hat trick from Ismael Beko Fofana. They could have had more if Dame Diop had not missed from the penalty spot in the eleventh minute of the match.
Coach Hovhannes Tahmazyan wanted his club to play better than they did in first leg. Even with their win, he expected more. Every player came into this matchup knowing the needed to play hard. One player Gevorg Hovhannisyon came in with a yellow card from first match so he needed to be careful.
SP Tre Penne's coach Marco Protti knew his club needed lots of help to overcome their three goal hole they found themselves in. He would have never guessed that two minutes into the contest he would already get one of those goals back. Samuel Kyere of Shirak scored an own goal to give Tre Penne a 1-0 lead.
The rest of the first half was a back and forth contest with each team having their chance at a goal. Shirak's Didier Kadio picked up a yellow card in the 24th minute. At half Tre Penne held on to that 1-0 lead but knew they needed two more goals to force extra time.
The second half was more of they same as both clubs looked for the net. The match did get a little out of hand as four Shirak players were given yellow cards. Ismael Fofana received one in 58th minute while Davit Marikyan received two and was given a red card three minutes into stoppage time. His first yellow came in the 70th minute. Karen Aleksanyan was the last Shirak player to get a yellow card in the 89th minute.
Tre Penne could not break thru and score again. They did however get their first ever win in a UEFA competition. Their 1-0 win at home will be cause for celebration. Shirak does advance but will need to improve a lot to beat FK Partizan in the next round.
Shirak F.C vs FK Partizan preview
Shirak had success last year in the Europa league beating Rudar Pljevlja 2-1 on aggregate to advance to second round. They would lose in that round to Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv 3-0. Before last year it had been eight years since they had competed in any UEFA tourneys.
FK Partizan is a veteran of UEFA tourneys. Just two years ago they were in the group stage of this tourney. They are easily the favorite to win.
Well anything can happen that is why they play the matches. I just don't see Shirak being able to beat Partizan either leg. They might get lucky and earn a draw at home but i dont see them beating them on the road. Partizan will win 6-1 on aggregate.
