Well, I am very pleased to see Asada here.
Her comeback seems an oasis to a time like this when Russian fraud disgraces the once glorious sport. Here Asada appears getting by. She isn't much impressing, but she gets by, and that's enough for her to claim the title.
After all Asada is a one-up skater compared to Wagner overall. Especially her jump consistency edges Wagner out. However, Asada here appears lackluster in power and speed. Her speed and power are not enough to give her the due point, and her contents are also depleted.
That might have to do with her interpretation on the music. What is apparent is Asada's stamina has been compromised and her old habit, especially with takeoff, seems still holding her back.
So with this performance, I am not sure if Asada easily edges Wagner out. Her jumps are +1,-3,-3,+1, 0, void and 0. Her PCS is 8.0.
You already know I love Elena, especially about her skating attitude. Although Elena has too critical defects to be considered as a senior skater yet, for example, her inability to connect moves without disruption, that is, jagged moves, and her ugly air positions on jump, she always skates with momentum.
Elena has improved a lot. Her jagged moves appears much less than before. However her wrong habits on jump are still in her company. That automatically docks her -2 in GOE. But I decided to alleviate the penalty, having taken into account her overall progress.
Her jumps are -1,-1,-3,-1,-1,-3,and -2. Her PCS is 6.75.
I hope Elena gets rid of her ugly posture on jumps at all costs. I just keep my fingers crossed.
I love Hongo, because she is the only skater today who legitimately qualifies 7.0 in PCS average.
Hongo doesn't show any junior garbage.
What I like about her skating is her straightforwardness, that is the so called honest skating. Of course she has many things to fix.
Her body language is always somewhat too weighty. She exerts too much on takeoff, almost reminding of Elena. Her posture on jump barely saves her from getting points off. Her moves are blunt rather than sharp. In other words she lacks of agility and maturity.
On the other hand, she shows a proper training in her skating. She doesn't show any jagged moves.
Her jumps are 0,+1,-1,-1,-3,-1 and 0. Her PCS is 7.25.
I am more and more disappointed with Anna.
The talent I once saw in her seems to have gone and lost. I am not saying this because she failed on her jumps. You can fall on all jumps, but you still can prove that you are a skater of a certain PCS in average.
All Anna proved here is that even if she moderately (good enough to earn "0" of GOE) succeeded in landing all jumps, she won't be able to earn 7.0 PCS by default.
Aside from a fact that her jump quality is substandard, Anna's execution ability is very low. Again all she does is too messy. She is too busy with junks.
Her speed and power seem okay and she doesn't show any jagged moves like Elena or Julia at some time ago (Elena and Julia now improved much). But she keeps failing to create contextual and "controlled" moves.
Her jumps are 0,-1,-3,-2,-3,-1,and -3. Her PCS is 6.25.
