2015 NFL Season Preview and Predictions--NFC West Division

The most important players on this team. That's right I said it. It all begins and ends with Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.

Seahawks

The Seahawks are the overall favorite to win the Super Bowl. They have it all. They have the coaching and the talent. Their talent is mostly home grown. They are doing everything the right way, except play calling at the goal line. That's a different story. Seattle has to get the taste of last year out of their mouths. They don't have any weaknesses. They are taking care of their own players, except Kam Chancellor. Which is a huge mistake. Kam and Earl Thomas are the most important players on this team. They are the heart and soul of the Legion of Boom. Richard Sermon is the mouth piece but he can do what he does because he knows Thomas and Chancellor have his back. It's a game of chicken and the Seahawks will flinch. They have to and they know it.

Seattle Seahawks 13-3

Cardinals

Bruce Arians continues to work miracles with a subpar group of QB's. Arian's proves coaching is not overrated. The Cardinals have won 10 games or more in his 2 seasons with the team. The only thing holding this team back is the QB position. Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton don't seem like they can make it throw a season. Logan Thomas isn't ready yet. The team needs to develop a running game. They are hoping Chris Johnson can provide that spark. He's coming off a down year with the Jets and this maybe his last shot as a starter. They have a solid group of WRs in Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and John Brown, who they really like.

The defense took a hit with the loss of Todd Bowles. Bowles took a head coaching job with Jets. The defense wasn't statiscally good but they were good at providing pressure and getting key turnovers. New defense coordinator James Bettcher, will have some weapons at his disposal. Patrick Peterson is the leader of this group. Peterson is a play maker and can change a game quickly. It will be interesting to see how they adjust to the new coaches philosophy. I think the Cardinals will contend for this divison and make the playoffs as a wild card team. That's how much I believe in Bruce Arian's coaching ability.

49ers

Control is a funny thing and that's why Jim Harbaugh is not in San Francisco anymore. The 49ers will fill the effect immediately. Harbaugh took the 49ers to 3 NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl, but he and the GM and owner didn't see eye to eye. So instead of talking it out they force him out and hire a yes man in Jim Tomsula. Tomsula has been a head coach for 1 NFL game and 1 year of NFL Europe. This has disaster written all over it. The 49ers had a run of talented players retiring as well. They still have talent but it just seems like a dumpster fire. After this season they'll miss Harbaugh deeply. He saved this franchise but the egos of the owner and GM ruined it.

Coaching changes don't equal success

Rams

We keep hearing about all this great talent on this roster but hasn't materialized. They finally gave up on Sam Bradford and brought in Nick Foles. It seems like a lateral move. They are pretty much the same player. I think Les Snead and Jeff Fisher don't have anything to show for the 4 years they've been here. Pete Carroll won this division in his 1st year. Jim Harbaugh went to the NFC Championship Game in his 1st year. Bruce Arians won 10 games in his first year. All things Jeff Fischer hasn't done in 4 years. Save the excuses because those franchises weren't in the best shape either before those coaches took over. It's a myth that Jeff Fisher is a great coach. The majority of his career he has been 7-9 or 8-8. That's a fact. The media loves him but he hasn't delivered. I don't see much changing here. I don't know how Les Snead and Jeff Fischer stay around without making playoffs. I don't see much changing here and I think it would be a miracle if they win 8 games.

I totally agree. He was given a lot of support in Tennessee. He took them to a Super Bowl but he got way more support than most coaches would with his record. Especially in a win now league.

You have a point there. I've always seen him as a pretty overrated coach myself. Even with Tennessee, the Titans stuck with him through some rough years.

That's fair. I just don't believe that Jeff Fisher is the right guy to lead this team.

I think you're underselling the Rams here. Defensively the team is set and they now have enough weapons on offense to compete
