Toomer's Corner

Aaaahhh...Toomer's Corner. There have been many generations of Auburn here at Toomer's. The drug store on the "corner" is home to the famous fresh squeezed lemonade. They have served the masses over the year. Fan of the team or not it's sill a laid back and fun atmosphere.

You think that you will come to Toomer's Corner and grab something "Auburn", and then you get inside the store. It is lacking in space at times, especially on game day but, hey who can accommodate that many people at one time anyway?

The lemons are more than plentiful here because every glass of lemonade (which is not small by, the way, gets freshly squeezed lemons. They mix just the right amount of sugar and then you have a drink that is just spectacular.

They also sale everything Auburn. From key chains, caps, chairs, umbrellas, towels, cups, glasses. I have found a couple of unique items here that I hadn't seen anywhere else.

Wait, as if that is not amazing enough, Toomer's Corner is also a full time pharmacy as well. On game day, it is a very popular spot to be. You must, must get the lemonade if you go to Auburn.

When the Eagle Soars.....

At every home game, weather permitting, the eagle is released from the top of the stadium. The eagle's food is left off for a few days before the game. An eagle's instinct is to hunt, of course. So, when the eagle is released from the top of the stadium, the trainer waits at mid field with meat for the eagle. The eagle circles the stadium and swoops down to pick up the food.

This experience is one of a kind. Being an Auburn fan myself and watching this take place live is unique. I get chills every time I see the eagle fly. It would be my wish that all Auburn fans would get to see the eagle fly at least once.

Live at Jordan-Hare: The Game Day Experience

There are several activities that go on, on game day.

There's all that eating!! You may have the set up of a lifetime and are the envy of everyone around with your tailgating party. If you are just coming for the game and don't want to mess with a lot of food, you can try out one of the many restaurants located around the city and on campus. Just remember with it being game day expect having to wait to eat.

There's the kids playing football!! There are always kids that throw the football on game day. Whether you are in the camper area or, at the a tailgate, someone always brings a football and the kids and (even the adults).

Souvenir Shopping!! I have my own way of traveling when I am at Auburn. I typically try to park in the same place. Then, I make the usual stops at 2-3 of my favorite book stores. Here you will find absolutely everything that is AUBURN. From key mugs, to flags, to stickers and magnets for the cars, game day shirts, stadium seats etc.. You name it, you can usually find it at one of the bookstores.

Tiger Walk!! Whether at an away game or at home, when the buses arrive at the stadium, the players walk through the line up of fans cheering them as well as their coaches, to the locker room. This is a great way to get to see the players up close and personal. Those are some big guys!

Aubie!! This loveable guy hypes up the fans before and during the games. He is a great asset to the team and provides entertainment during the game. You never know if Aubie will be in disguise or not.

Rolling Toomer's Corner!! The Auburn tradition is to roll Toomer's Corner's Trees after a football game win. It looks like snow by the time everyone is done.

Final Thoughts.......

I hope that if you are an Auburn fan, that you can experience at least one home game. The games are fun and high energy and you just have a great time. It's fun to interact with those around you at the game, take photos and roll Toomer's Corner after the win. It is an experience you will never forget.
