Believe in Roman Reigns? I think not... Yet.

Updated on November 2, 2015

Roman Reigns has continuously been pushed to the moon by Vince McMahon, mainly due to his size and his look. But the real question is, does he deserve the push?

In the eyes of many, myself included, he isn't. Roman Reigns supporters will go back to Royal Rumble 2014 when the fans chanted FOR Roman Reigns to win the event, what they don't bring up though, is the fans weren't chanting for Reigns because they wanted him to win, they were chanting for Roman because they didn't want Batista to win. 2014 according to many fans, belonged to Daniel Bryan and he should have been the man to win the event and go on to WrestleMania to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, that's the way it went down in the end, but that's another blog for another day.

Roman Reigns has the size and the look, but not much else. His in ring promos are decent and that's putting it lightly, some guys just aren't meant to be on a microphone and there's nothing wrong with that, but if you're looking for Roman Reigns to be the next face of the company, he has to know how to work a microphone, and in my opinion and the opinion of many others, he can't. His in ring ability is very limited from what he's shown on TV on weekly basis, there's nothing all that impressive about his move set, he's pulled out a couple of impressive moves here and there, but aside from that, his entire offense consists of punches, kicks, a Samoan drop and a spear.

I don't hate Roman Reigns, I want him to succeed but he needs time to do that, Vince McMahon for some reason is hell bent on forcing a Roman Reigns push on the fans and it failed once, it will fail again. If Vince wants to push Reigns, give him a long reign with either the United States or Intercontinental Titles, THEN he can win the Royal Rumble and then go on to WrestleMania to win the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

A lot of people will say I'm an idiot, that I have no right to talk because I've never been inside the ring. I've never been inside the ring, but I believe that being a fan of professional wrestling for over 20 years, I do have a right to talk, I do have a right to complain when I feel the need to, I have spent hundreds of dollars supporting the company, I've bought and continue to buy t-shirts, video games and the WWE Network, does that mean I should have a say in what happens booking wise? Absolutely not, but at the same time I think I have a better idea for what fans want then the creative team because I am around the fans, we talk about what's good and what's bad and what can be done to make the product better. And then we hear a podcast with LEGENDS basically saying the exact same things we're saying. So no, I've never been inside a ring, but that doesn't mean my opinions mean any less, I'm not saying I don't respect Roman Reigns, because I do, I respect the hell out of ANYONE who gets inside the ring to entertain the fans by putting their bodies on the line, I just think It's a bad idea for Vince to continue to push a guy who isn't ready as hard as he is, especially when there are plenty of other guys on the roster who are better in the ring and have much better mic skills.

But thats just my opinion, I could be wrong... But I doubt it.

Let me know what you think in the comments.
