Boxing: Memorabilia, Toys and Other Collectibles
The Ring Magazine
The Ring magazine was first released in 1922 and it is still going strong today. They introduced many first for the sport including rankings and awards such as Fighter of the Year and Fight of the Year. The magazine also has an online presence with Ringtv.com.
Many other magazines have been published including: KO, Boxing Blade, Knockout and Boxing Monthly (United Kingdom). KO was similar to The Ring and made by The Ring. Boxing Blade and Knockout are now defunct. Many Ring magazines have high value and the boxing publications that are out of commission are important to collectors if they are in good condition.
Aside from Boxing publications sports magazines such as Sports Illustrated and ESPN cover the sport in print too. Truth be told these publications put boxing on the backburner and rarely treat the sport with any sort of respect.

Ring Lords Boxing Card (Evander Holyfield)
Boxing Card Sets
Tons of companies, it seems, produced boxing cards over the last 100 years. In more recent times KO, World Boxing and Ring Lords took over the project. Obviously signed cards are worth more to collectors and the older the card the better in most cases.
The original boxing cards came out in the early 19th century. Card companies such as Turkey Red Boxing Cards, Charles Fredrick's Company (1870 and earlier), Old Judge cards and Topps Ringside cards. Personally. I have all the KO and Ringlord card sets as well as the first addition of World Boxing's initial set.

Talking Muhammad Ali Doll
Boxing Toys and Games
Muhammad Ali has had the most dolls and toys made about his fistic career. Needless to say lots of vdeo games about boxing have been made including: Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing and the Fight Night series.
A far as action figures go Rocky even got in on the action. The Rocky movie franchise has Rocky, Apollo Creed, Mr. T and Ivan Drago dolls as well as a boxing ring. Starting Lineup did a great job in developing boxing action figures and dolls including the likes of: Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson.
Rock em Sock em Robots is a timeless classic without a doubt. Two people push buttons to make the robots punch each other inside of the squared circle.

Robes, Trunks, Belts & Gloves
Boxing gloves, championship belts, robes, hand wraps, boxing trunks, shoes and any gear owned by famous prizefighters usually is in great demand and if these items are signed they will fetch up to five times the amount of cash. If you ever get your hand on an actual championship belt that was worn by a legendary fighter then you have got a ton of value before you.
Muhammad Ali had a pair of his fight gloves fetch over a million dollars at auction. Depending on which bout the gloves were used for will determine the importance of the gloves, trunks, etc.

Boxing Books and Films
Boxing Books that are extremely old and hard to find fetch descent cash and books signed by the boxer that it focuses on bring even higher cash flow. Some very famous boxing books have been written including Raging Bull which was made about the life of former middleweight champion Jake LaMotta. Other books and autobiographies have been written including By George about the life of George Foreman. I actually met Big George, got him to sign my book and shook his hand at a book signing at Books-a-Million in Hoover, Alabama.
Hundreds of boxing films have been made and some very famous actors have had starring roles in these movies. Raging Bull starred Robert DeNiro, Ali starred Will Smith and Russell Crowe had the lead role in Cinderella Man which is a film about heavyweight champion Jim Braddock.

Location of The International Boxing Hall of Fame (Canastota, NY)
The International Boxing Hall of Fame
The International Boxing Hall of Fame is located in the city of Canastota in New York. It was erected in 1990 and boxers, trainers, writers, promoters, managers, commentators and any other people who have made significant contributions to prizefighting are eligible to be inducted.
Each year the Hall of Fame induction weekend happens in June. Boxers get their fist cast, sign autographs and play in a celebrity golf tournament. The best part of this place is the fact that the boxers are always accessible to the fans and aside from inductees current fighters show up for the festivities too! I have never attended or visited the museum other than touring it on Youtube.

Posters, Program Guides and Artwork
Famous artist such as Leroy Neiman have painted some of history's best boxers. Artwork goes for high dollars and fight posters and programs are valuable in certain instances eszpecially if they are signed by the prizefighters.
All major boxing events have fight programs for live events. As far as posters go I got the cardboard 5 feet tall poster of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana rematch. I saw the fight at the movie theater and the manager said after the PPV was over I could take all the advertisements home which thrilled me.
