Road Racing Bikes

This article looks at budget road racing bikes. Finding the right bike with the right amount of features and components can be tiring but after reading this review you will have the right information needed to go a head and buy one of these bikes with confidence.

I have been a keen cyclist all my life and I keep up with what's happening in the cycling world. The budget bikes chosen all offer something different to the buyer who wants great value, but at the same time is also looking for a bike that has good components and a great specification for the price.

Road cycling isn't just about racing from one place to the next although there are plenty of cyclists who do just that. Cycling is about having fun, either on your own or with friends and family.

Deciding what to buy and what features your bike should have will greatly depend on what you are going to be using the bike for. Most of the bikes featured are lighter than mountain bikes, all come with dipped or racing style handlebars and all come complete with a number of different gears to help you ride economically.

Wanting a bike that stands out and is competitive then look no further, these bikes are light, are suitable for commuting to work or for stretching your self at the weekends. Cycling is one of the best ways to get fit and stay fit, and most importantly there a lot of fun.

I neither would want to ride down a mountain on a cheap untrustworthy built bike and I take your point on poorly assembled bikes. But this article is on good reliable well made road bikes by recognised companies and sold through Amazon. On the road there is no where near the amount of vibration that you get with a mountain bike. This article is for people looking to get into road biking not necessarily those who want to race. If your looking for a bike to ride around at the weekend these bikes are perfectly exceptable for this purpose.

I worked on some low-end 'mountain' bikes this Spring... we took them apart and reassembled them as part of a STEM project. The quality was abysmal. We had 13 identical bikes: some were completely devoid of lubrication in the headset and bottom brackets. Bolts were stripped. Components were so poorly made that adjustment was problematic. I wouldn't ride a cheap bike down a mountain. My body is worth too much.

Thanks for commenting: bikes are like everything else in life these days you get what you pay for. Sorry but that is the truth. Save up a bit longer and get advice before parting with your money.

I didn't have much money for the summer so I fiugred I'd buy this bike. What a poor decision. Both wheels are not at all true, so using it is already hard enough. The grips on the handlebars will also slide off halfway overnight, every night. And the worst thing is just this last week, when I was biking on the road to work, the right pedal just came clean off, stripped, and I nearly got run over by the passing cars. How does that even happen on a bike. I will never skimp on paying a more for a bike from now on. I have only had this bike for 2 weeks and it has not been treating me well at all.
