Who is Carolina Solberg Salgado?

What comes to mind when you think about Brazil? Chances are most people would probably mention the beaches or soccer that Brazil is really famous for. But Brazil also has volleyball players. One such person, Carolina Solberg Salgado has been Brazil’s most popular beach volleyball athlete. Carolina Salgado, a native of Rio De Janeiro Brazil entered the world on August 6, 1987. She stands at five feet and ten inches tall. She also has a brother, Pedro Solberg. Author’s note: I first began researching about the life and career of Carolina Salgado back in 2012, the year that the Olympics were held in London. Carolina Salgado Solberg is also a beach volleyball babe!

Carolina Solberg Salgado: her career so far

Carolina got her start with volleyball at the age of 9 being taught by her mother Isabel who held private classes. She started playing volleyball indoors. Prior to her 21st birthday, Carolina had the most success in the SWATCH-FIVB World Championships for those players under the age of 21 years. She participated in three tournaments prior to turning 18. In 2002 in Greece, she ended up with a fourth place finish. The 2004 Summer Olympics would be held in Athens, Greece. In 2003 and 2004 with partner Barbara Figuereido, she ended up with a solid second place finish in tournaments in Thailand and Italy. Also in 2003, Carolina had a third place finish with her sister Maria Clara in France. In 2004 and 2005, Salgado reached the pinnacle of success when she earned a gold medal in Porto Santo Portugal and Rio De Janeiro. Carolina and Maria earned a spot at the podium at the end of the 2005 volleyball season because they had a solid finish in third place in Cape Town, South Africa. Carolina’s biggest strengths as a volleyball player is her serving, hitting and great spiking abilities.

When she isn’t playing volleyball, Carolina enjoys surfing and hanging out with her friends. She has had the most success playing with her sister. Carolina is recognized as one of the most beautiful volleyball players in the world and it is hard to disagree.
