Chris Gayle Fined 10,000 for sexist remarks in Australia

Updated on January 5, 2016

Chris Gayle Naughty Captain!

Chris Gayle fined $10,000 despite apologising after asking out reporter live on tv

Chris Gayle was left blushing when he was fined $10,000 after he asked out the female reporter for a drink while live on Australian TV despite apologising to Mel McLaughlin he was handed the substantial fine.

The West Indian cricketer was being questioned by the Channel 10 reporter after his below par performance in the BBL (aussie cricket league) Gayle was heard saying.

"I wanted to see your eyes for the first time, hopefully we can win this game and then we can have a drink after as well," he said.

Gayle, 36, then added to McLaughlin: "Don't blush, baby."

With severe backlash from league chairman in Australia and wider world media. I ask why do our sports stars and celebs think they are above the law or the law should be lenient towards them. Sexism in any form should not be tolerated and Gayle should have been more respectable to the reporter after all she was only trying to do her job.

Gayle Right or Wrong?

Was Gayle just joking a bit of banter or was it more serious sexual harassment.
