The Chicago Bulls are back on the winners list by managing to hold off a spirited New York Knicks side led by Amare Stoudemire who had 34 points and 11 rebounds. Derrick Rose who sat out the whole last quarter of the previous game against the 76s returned to his high standards tonight with a 32 point and 13 assist performance.

This win against a quality opponent on the road with injuries to key players Loul Deng and Richard "Rip" Hamilton is key to the Bulls, they need to ensure that they have the best season record come playoffs time in order for them to have the maximum chance against the Miami Heat when really at the end of the day, these 2 teams led by Derrick Rose and Lebron James are the best 2 teams in the eastern conference and at the moment most likely the best 2 teams in the entire league.

Kyle Korver got out of the blocks quick with hitting three 3's in the first half of the first quarter to take the pressure off Rose. The game was fairly neck and neck until late in the 2nd quarter just before half time the Bulls had a great run led by Rose to have a 10 point lead at half time. The Bulls kept that lead through mostly the rest of the match until the final few minutes when the Knicks closed right up on the Bulls. Chicago though, always seemed in control as the Knicks didnt hit the lead and were always 2 possesions behind in the play.

Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver both had 16 points each and Boozer with 9 rebounds but it was Rose who was the star of the show. Defenders not knowing whether to guard Rose up seeing as when they do he drove past with them with ease to the hoop, or to back off him because when they did he started popping his jump shot and 2 3's. C.J Watson is proving to be one of the best back up point guards in the league with 12 points in only 19 minutes of play, Watson is also proving his ablity to playing in different positions and different roles when he and Rose are both on the floor which is giving the Bulls another offensive weapon.

The New York Knicks need to seriously address there defensive structure, they have gone with a great offensive lineup but they forget that Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire are not great defenders, I imagine they will be very active to accquire a experienced defender before the trade dealine or to gain someone through free agency. Without this defensive aspect to there game plan the New York Knicks will not win a championship with this current lineup.

So all in all well done to the Bulls who continue to have a tough schedule in front of them with 6 more games on the road, if they were to do well down this stretch and get Loul Deng and Rip Hamilton back into good physical shape whilest picking up no more injuries, the Bulls will be in a great position to gain the number 1 seed in the eastern conference playoffs and have a great chance of taking it to the Miami Heat.
