2016 FIFA Club World Cup Is Almost Here!!!

Updated on December 6, 2016

Real Madrid #1

Real Madrid are the all time favorites of winning this tournament, there are the champions league defending champions. This team is historically one of the greatest of all time in the football world. They are the team with the most Spanish league titles (32), 19 league cups, 1 club world cup and what is their biggest triumph 11 champions leagues. Some stars to watch on their teams during the tournament are Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, Luka Modric and basically the whole team, since their staring eleven is composed of the best in the world. It will be a big surprise and failure for Real Madrid if they do not win this tournament.

Atletico Nacional #2

Then we have Altetico Nacional, the ¨Copa Libertadores¨ champions, they are one of the biggest clubs in Colombia and are the first Colombian club to win this cup two times. They are the most successful team in Colombia right now with these two cups, 15 national championships and three league cups. Some key players in their teams and the ones you should watch are Franco Armani, Alexis Henríquez, Alejandro Guerra, Macnelly Torres, Orlando Berrío, Miguel Borja. Atletico Nacional will probably be the ones to face Real Madrid in the final and are the ones with the biggest possibilities of giving a surprise at the tournament.

Club America #3

Next we have the CONCACAF representatives, Club America. This is the team with the most national titles in the Mexican League (12). It is known for being a team that you either love or hate, no in-between. They are coming back to Japan after a disappointing 2015 club world cup, know they come back with hopes of a better turnout. An interesting fact is that the finals of the national league have been halted because of Club America´s participation in this tournament. Some key players to watch are Oribe Peralta, Rubens Sambueza, Silvio Romero, Williams Da Silva and Darwin Quintero. Club America are expected to win their first match and then loose against the number one favorite, Real Madrid.

Jeonbuk Hyundai #4

Then there is the representative from South Korea, the Jeonbuk Hyundai. Also one of the biggest clubs in their country, they have won four national titles. This is not their debut in their tournament since they have already played once and lost to club America, now they have a double come back opportunity, since they will play again in this tournament and against the same opponent. Some key players to follow are Kim Bokyung, Lee Donggook, Lee Jaesung, Leonardo, Ricardo Lopes. This team is expected to loose against Club America but win the consolation match.

Kashima Antlers #5

The Kashima Antlers are here after winning the Japan national title. They are one of the biggest teams in Japan with 8 national titles and historic players like Zico have played in this club. Some key players to watch are Mitsuo Ogasawara, Hitoshi Sogahata, Mu Kanazaki, Gaku Shibasaki, Hwang Seokho, Yasushi Endo. The Antlers are also the least expected to win their match but you never know, because this teams is showing something special.

Mamelodi Sundowns #6

Representing Africa, we have the Mamelodi Sundowns football club. They are ones of the biggest clubs in South Africa, with ten national titles. This is their debut in a club world cup and even though they are not seen as favorites, their physical strength is a very big plus for them. Some key players to watch are Keagan Dolly, Hlompho Kekana, Ricardo Nascimento, Anele Ngcongca, Leonardo Castro, Anthony Laffor, Khama Billiat, Denis Onyango.

Auckland City #7

This team has very impressive history despite being a short amount of history. This club that was created in 2004, is the team that has played this tournament the most amount of times, and you also have to take into account that it is considered a semi-professional team. They are the least favorite team, but you never know in these type of direct elimination tournaments.
