Football Manager is the best-selling football management simulation game developed by Sports Interactive. I have encountered two types of managers playing this game. First is the novice kind who wish to buy all the greatest players in the game, starting from Messi and Ronaldo. The second kind is the more seasoned managers who play the game in right spirit and build there team with a good blend of youth and experienced players.

Manuel Neuer - One of the best goalkeepers of his generation

I like the seasoned managers. They build the team from the very root level by buying the best young talent, also known as the Wonderkids. For the same set of managers, I have brought a list of best 10 young goalkeepers to buy on FM17 who have the highest potential:

Gianluigi Donnarumma (17)

Nationality: Italy

Club: AC Milan

Estimated Value (In Euros): 8.5 mil

Long considered one of Italy's most exciting prospects, Donnarumma is widely regarded as the successor to Gianluigi Buffon. Buffon has in turn praised the teenager's physical and technical abilities, mental composure and decision making. Predicting an "extraordinary career" in his future, he commended Donnarumma's ability to cope with the pressures of being a goalkeeper at such a young age. Another of Italy's World Cup-winning goalkeepers, Dino Zoff, similarly said Donnarumma seems "predestined to become a great goalkeeper," adding that "it all depends completely on him."

Predrag Rajković (21)

Nationality: Serbia

Club: Maccabi Tel Aviv

Estimated Value (In Euros): 1.2 mil

Predrag Rajković is a Serbian football goalkeeper who plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League. After winning 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand and the award for the best goalkeeper of the tournament, many European clubs wanted Rajković, including French Ligue 1 club Lyon, Belgian side Club Brugge and according to some reports Italian giant Serie A club A.C. Milan and French champion Paris St Germain.

Christian Früchtl (16)

Nationality: Germany

Club: Bayern Munich

Estimated Value (In Euros): 165K

Bayern Munich youth goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl has "incredible" attributes, according to sporting executive Matthias Sammer. Sammer also said 6-foot-2 tall Fruchtl, who turns 16 later this month, has a remarkable physique for his age and would benefit plenty by having Neuer at the club to guide him.

Alban Lafont (17)

Nationality: France

Club: Toulouse

Estimated Value (In Euros): 650K

Alban Lafont is a French professional footballer who currently plays as goalkeeper for Ligue 1 side Toulouse and the France U18 national football team. He currently holds the record for being the youngest goalkeeper ever to play in Ligue 1.

Alex Meret (19)

Nationality: Italy

Club: SPAL (On Loan from Udinese)

Estimated Value (In Euros): 950K

Alex Meret is an Italian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Serie B club SPAL, on loan from Udinese. Regarded highly by various pundits and ex-players, Meret is a regular for Italy U-19 side.

Mile Svilar (17)

Nationality: Belgium

Club: Anderlecht

Estimated Value (In Euros): 600K

Mile Slivar is the son of one of the best Serbian goalkeepers of all time, Ratko Slivar. He is eligible to play for both Belgium and Serbia. However, he has been regarded as a successor of Courtois for quite sometime now.

Rubén Blanco (21)

Nationality: Spain

Club: Celta de Vigo

Estimated Value (In Euros): 2 mil

Rubén Blanco Veiga is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Celta de Vigo as a goalkeeper. On 26 May 2013, two months shy of his 18th birthday, Blanco made his main squad – and La Liga – debut, entering the pitch at half-time after Javi Varas suffered a serious shoulder injury and keeping a clean sheet in a 2–0 away win against Real Valladolid. He retained his position for the following match, the last of the campaign, helping to a 1–0 home success over RCD Espanyol as Celta managed to stay up, being the first team above the relegation zone.

Josip Posavec (20)

Nationality: Croatia

Club: Palermo

Estimated Value (In Euros): 1.5 mil

On 31 August 2015, the Serie A club Palermo announced that they had finalised the signing of Posavec, and that he will join the Italian club at the end of the football season 2015/2016. However on 26 January 2016, Palermo announced that Posavec would join the club already in January, to replace Simone Colombi who left for Carpi.

Simone Scuffet (20)

Nationality: Italy

Club: Udinese

Estimated Value (In Euros): 775K

Scuffet's reflexes, confidence, consistency, composure, and precocious performances have earned him comparisons with Italy national football team goalkeeper and 2006 World Cup winner Gianluigi Buffon, who also made his Serie A debut as a teenager. Already regarded as one of the most promising young players of his generation, in 2014 Don Balón listed him as one of the top 100 young players in the world.

Adrian Šemper (18)

Nationality: Croatia

Club: Dinamo Zagreb

Estimated Value (In Euros): 100K

Šemper has represented his country at various age groups, most recently for the Croatia national under-19 football team. In 2015, he played 2015 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Since March 2016, he has been member of Croatia national under-19 football team.

Which of these young goal keepers will you sign on FM17?
