Fish All Night Carters Lake Georgia
It seems that there are almost no places these days were you can go night fish off any docks in or around AtlantaGeorgia. I love sitting out on a dock somewhere late at night and fishing for whatever bites. I usually will put out one pole utilizing bass fishing techniques, and one pole utilizing crappie fishing techniques, and from there, it’s just a exercise in relaxing and taking in the peaceful evening with the moon light glaring off the lake. I have searched all over Lake Lanier, and every place were there is access to the lake and a platform to fish from is essentially closed at dusk unless you are putting a boat in, or taking one out.
Well I finally found a perfect all night well lit fishing spot. It’s at Carters Lake in Georgia. It’s a little bit of a drive, but trust me it is well worth it. It is located below the dam at Carters lake, and a wide body of rushing water that is slap full of Catfish, huge Drum, and even some large stripers come thru there. It’s a very comfortable place to fish. There are concrete decks located on both sides, and several picnic tables and even grills to cook your catch on. It is well lit, and you are allowed to sit out there and fish all night if you desire.
If you go there, there were absolutely no places near there to eat. I would suggest you take some food with you, or you can stop at Bart’s Bait & Tackle, and his wife has a little diner in the back, and she will cook things for you like hamburgers and hotdogs, or make a sandwich for you. The owner is also a Lake Carter fishing guide. I think they are like open all the time.
