Fisher Price I Can Play Basketball

Updated on April 22, 2016

Fisher Price I Can Play BasketBall - Great Fun And Great Value For The Money

As a warning to any woman married to a sports fanatic, any children you have will probably end up the same way!

I'm definitely not complaining though, because I cringe when I see overweight children whose only daily exercise is opening a soda and picking up a remote. Anything that can get a child outside into the fresh air has to be good.

They are less likely to be overweight and have allergies, and games that involve playing with other children help them understand give and take, stick to rules and they'll also have something to look forward to if they have an aptitude for the game.

March and April in my house means nothing but basketball on the TV.

Although my 6'6" husband has a practice hoop attached to the garage, it wasn't going to be a lot of good for our 3 year old.

The Fisher Price I Can Play Basketball set was ideal.

Why This Hoops Set Is So Good For Kids

As with all Fisher Price toys this basketball set is built to last. It’s also another FP toy that grows with your child so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. It fits together in just a few minutes and to make it stable we filled the base with wet sand. You can use water if you prefer. It’s colorful too and comes in patriotic red, white and blue.

The first setting is at 3 feet high making it easy for smaller children to reach the net, and the I Can Play Basketball set even comes with a ball. Starting them out early means improving their hand-eye coordination and gets them into the habit of keeping fit and having fun outdoors.

It won’t be too long before you can move it up to four feet, then five and eventually six feet, always making it a challenge for your son or daughter. Okay they can’t swing from the hoop when they make a basket, but with the sand in the base this basketball set won’t fall over, although it’s not so cumbersome it can’t be moved into the garage when it’s not in use.

The net will eventually fall apart but who cares? For the small amount we paid for it, this has been one of the best toys we’ve ever bought, if you can even call it a toy!

My son and the neighborhood kids have spent many happy hours playing with it and I’ve taken a few shots now and again. It even gets my husband off the couch, between games in March and April.

The Fisher Price I can Play Basketball set is awesome value for money. My son is healthy and happy and looking forward to playing for his school, and he’s already talking about playing at college. Now all I have to do is make sure he does his homework and keep good grades.

Great idea that it grows as the children do - a great birthday gift idea for my young nephew!

I think toys that get little kids up and moving are great, before they did hooked on the internet.
