Fishing on a Northern Lake Troll Style

I'm a licensed fisherman, but I'm along just for the ride. I catch fish, if they bite, but I'm not ready to do any fishing broadcasting.

I was using some sort of silver spinner. A lead weight. A red hook and a minnow. A "shiner" they called it. I basically dropped the hooked minnow in the water and let out a lot of line. Then you wait until you hook something and crank your catch into the boat.

The other time we used some leeches and in one spot we used a tube lure. I was unable to master "popping". Popping is where you give your rod tip a quick jerk and it causes your plastic bait to jump. Well. The fish are safe with that lure.

I hate to hear fish laugh at me.
