Updated on March 17, 2015

Senior Leadership

Part of the reason the Falcons are off to a good start is due to its senior leadership. Eight of the thirteen varsity players are seniors, including the teams first two pitchers of record.

Brett Fulk got the opening day start against the West Forsyth Titans that won the 4A state championship in 2014. Fulk pitched five innings of two-hit baseball with four strikeouts to get the win. He also contributed to the win by belting a grand slam in the top of the fifth inning to give the Falcons the lead for good. Brett finished 2 for 4 with four RBIs and a run scored.

Carson Fulp preserved the win to earn his first save of the season after taking over for Jack Crews who held the lead in the sixth inning.

Next up for the Falcons was the Elks out of Elkin, NC. Carson Fulp took to the mound for this one, and allowed one run over five innings while striking out eight batters.

Tyler Campbell led the offensive attack with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Jack Crews and Brett Fulk also had multiple hits for the Falcons. The Falcons rounded the bases in a five-inning rout of the Elks 11-1.

The Falcons suffered their only loss of the season thus far against the Hornets of Salisbury. Brett Fulk scattered five hits and two runs over 5 1/3 innings, but still managed to get the loss as the Falcon offense could only manage one run. The Falcons out hit the Hornets, but couldn't put any of its six hits together.

Hit the Field

The Falcons are set to hit the field before their home game against the Elks of Elkin. It was a rare day with the sun shining, and a great day for baseball.
