Forbush JV Girls Basketball
On the Nose
The junior varsity girls took one on the nose against the Greyhounds of North Surry. North Surry came out with full court pressure, and never let up. The Falcons did their best to hang around in the first half, but could never get in an offensive rhythm.
By the second half, the Greyhounds had put some distance between the two teams. Forbush rotated several players in the game during the fourth quarter in an attempt to give other players some game experience. The Falcons never gave up during the game, but just didn't have enough to get past the Greyhounds of North Surry.
The girls will not be in action on Friday night as the Wildcats of West Stokes do not have a junior varsity team.
Hannah Drives to the Basket
To the Hole
Hannah Davis drives to the basket as the seconds tick down in the fourth quarter. Hannah scored two points for the Falcons in the fourth quarter. Hannah was on a mission late in the game as she tried to will her team back into the contest.
Claire Leads the Cheer
Get Going, Falcons!
Claire Brown leads the squad in a cheer to get the team's energy level up. The girls needed all of the help they could get in this one as the Greyhounds put the Falcons under a lot of pressure.
Watch the Crossover
Kara Scott can lose a defender in a heartbeat. She is pictured here setting up her defender for that dangerous crossover move. Kara got to the basket many times on the nigh, but could only manage one point from the free throw line as the ball just would not go in the basket for the Falcons.
JV Girls Roster
Davis Ann Wood
Miriana knows how to fill it up. Normally, Miriana is the shooting threat for the Falcons, but in this one the Greyhounds didn't allow her to get in position to get her shot off. Miriana was able to get three points in the fourth quarter to factor into the scoring.
Amongst the Trees
Karson Starling got in on the action and paid the price as she was fouled hard on her shot attempt. Baskets were at a premium in the paint in this one.
Battle on the Boards
Quick off the Block
Caroline Williams and Kristen Martin keep many possessions alive for the Falcons by tracking down the missed shots. In the picture on the right, both players work their way into position to pull down another board.
Battle on the Boards
Davis-Ann Wood battles for position; proving that quickness is an effective tool to rebounding.
