Hand of Devil

Updated on July 6, 2010

The ongoing FIFA world cup in South Africa and the first in Africa Soil has so far produced tremendous and surprising results at least the elimination of all most all the world soccer great Nations like Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy and the fact that all the African countries that had the privilege to be part of the tournament were all eliminated in the first round except one has left both me and so many other soccer fans thinking what football is turning to.

It is no longer country these days but skills and that was why Ghana an under dog were able to reach the quarter finals...

Ghana Versus Uruguay...

Much was expected from countries like Brazil but to me in particular, i made it clear from day one that a team(world cup team) without Ronaldinho is no team so that was why i was unable to give Brazil my candid support in South Africa. Furthermore, the humiliation of my Hero and his team left me heart broken but whatever be the case, i still and will always love my man Diego Maradona.

All i have come to conclude with mutual understanding is that in Soccer, anything can happen and for sure something disturbing did happened in South Africa

World cup 2010

Was it a repeat of History,Cheat or Fraud?

He boldly called it the hand of God...

Luiz Suarez boasted after what i bitterly called A DAY LIGHT ROBBERY which stopped the Ghanaian, the African hope from excelling in the tournament which would have produced the first Africa Nation to reach the Semi final and subsequently lifting the Trophy.

Before i commence, let me refresh you about an outcry against Diego Maradona in 1986 World Cup which left the England team and most soccer fans heart broken.

The so called hand of God

Luis Suarez

In his words, he boasted that Diego Maradona does not hold the title of the hand of god any longer.

"Sometimes in training, i play goalkeeper so it was worth it, there was no alternative but for me to do that and when they missed the penalty, i thought; it is a miracle and we are alive in the tournament"

Luis deliberately used his hands instead of head to stop a ball that was headed for inside the open net and a goal which would have led Ghana into the semi final stage of the 2010 world cup and to Mr Suarez, it is the hand of god.

How do i define this day light robbery?

Every mankind knows that what he did was a blatant cheating and it reminds me of what Che Guevara my hero who made me get up today once said and i quote:

"Above all, always be able to feel deeply any injustice committed against any person in any part of the world"

What is the world governing body doing or did to give us justice?

Luis Suarez is today a hero in his home land and he became this idolized hero by cheating in a tournament which has a golden rule of FAIR PLAY.

Luis Suarez left me and so many other soccer fans all over the world heart broken.

History has taken down Mr. Suarez and perhaps one day he might realize that he is not a hero but a LOSER.

It was not even a professional foul but a cheat which the referee failed to redress though a red card is justified but a penalty remains a 50-50 issue therefore awarding a goal against the hand of devil would have made the FIFA golden rule "FAIR PLAY a FAIR PLAY.

What is your honest opinion?

Did the referee did the right thing by awarding a penalty instead of a direct goal?

bottomline is that if Suarez played fair Ghana would`ve got that goal and would`ve progressed further...his unsportmanship-like behaviour after the game was even more disappointing than his handball

"Above all, always be able to feel deeply any injustice committed against any person in any part of the world"- This is also that "Golden Rule" thing.
