Time - Most of the cases have to do with time. Going to a Crossfit box (gym) can be time consuming especially for those people who have a full time job or who have children at home. Although Crossfit Boxes are growing all over the nation, they are not found everywhere and some people have to drive an hour (or more) away to go to a Box. Obviously in this kind of scenario going to a Crossfit Box can be a waste of time.
Money - A Crossfit Box membership can cost anywhere from $100 to over $200 per month. It can cost less if you sign up for a period of 6 months to a year. Many people simply cannot afford to attend a Crossfit Box. Note: Military people have it easier as many of the military bases are starting to offer free or very low cost Crossfit facilities. Group Workouts - Grossfit WODs are usually in the form of a group workout. Some people like to keep their workouts to themselves as they can push harder and finish all of the WOD at home. It really depends on your personality.
Basic Things You Will Need To Start Doing Crossfit At Home
There are a few things you will need before you start doing Crossfit WODs at home:
Choose a big enough space in your home where you can put some equipment and have enough place to spread your arms be able to jump around. Most people place their Crossfit gym either in a garage or in the basement.
Get some Crossfit equipment for your home. The basic Crossfit equipment are kettlebells, powerlifting bars, and a pull up bar. You can do a lot of the Crossfit exercises without any equipment at all (such as Burpees).
Get the right tools. If you are attaching equipment to the walls, make sure that it is secure, so you may need to go by home improvement store to pick up some tools and hardware.
Crossfit Apparel. Ok you probably don't need to go all crazy about this one, but Crossfit apparel can get you excited about your workouts. Some people just like being stylish during their workouts, so if you're one of them, then pick out some nice clothes, shoes, etc.
