Learning how to dunk in 3 weeks can be tough, at least to those who are not physically gifted enough or those who are doing the process of learning how to dunk the wrong way.

And how’s this for motivation: Spudd Webb, an NBA legend who made quite a name for himself through his thunderous dunks, stand only 5’6 tall.. It’s even more exhilarating to see a little man dunk because the vertical leap is much more apparent. If Spudd Webb can do it, so can you, especially if you’re taller than him. So you’d do well to continue reading.

Learning how to dunk in 3 weeks requires you to work on three main aspects of physical training. Those are body control/flexibility, maximum strength, and plyometric ability.

How to Dunk in 3 Weeks

Body Control

The extent to which your muscles can contort and flex can contribute to a well-executed dunk. Once you go up in the air, you need to work on how you can throw the ball down amidst defenders. You might need to adjust and make that extra extension required to get the ball past the outstretched hands of your opponents. To improve on body control as you learn how to dunk in 3 weeks, you will need to do a lot of basic stretching. Make sure that stretching is part of your training program.

Maximum Strength

To learn how to dunk in 3 weeks, you will need the hops to even take the ball to the rim. For this, you need to have stronger legs. The upper body also needs attention since it can help you get more leverage as you go up for a dunk. To work on your strength, weight training is required. Recommended routines are dead lifts, squats, and calf rises.

Plyometric Ability

This is measured by the amount of time needed to gear all the muscles to execute a move, which in this case refers to dunking. Having a good plyometric ability gives you an upper-hand against defenders even if the dunk was anticipated. This also improves the percentage of converted dunk attempts even when fouled. So don’t neglect this particular aspect. To work on your plyometric ability, include jump squats, sprints, and lunges to your routines.

So there you have it. Learning how to dunk in 3 weeks requires the correct approach as much as hard work. But remember, dunking is but one aspect of your game. Working on your dunking game can help your game, but don’t forget to work on other fundamentals as well.
