How to Get Yourself Pumped and Enthusiastic for a Big Sports Game

Get Motivated For The Game
Whether it is a college game of football or pro football you are going to watch, you certainly do not want to watch it by yourself. So, a great way to have a great time is to invite your friends over to help you yell at the TV.
I live in Alabama and the biggest game of the entire season is Alabama vs. Auburn. This is a game that Alabama and Auburn fans alike wait for. This is especially true if there is a Championship Game in either of the team's future. Same goes for Florida vs. Florida State or Michigan vs. Michigan State. You get the point. The rival in the state is so bad that, it makes some friends not talk to each other during this point of the football season.
A great way to get pumped is to wear your teams colors, a jersey or cap or wear a t-shirt that talks some smack about the other team. Some men and women go all out. Some men will paint their bodies and/or faces in their team colors. Women will have team colors and be decked out from head to toe with earrings, scarves, hats, gloves, shirts, jackets, dresses, rings, watches, blinking pins and sunglasses. In the winter you will see team jackets and blankets at the ballgame especially on a cold game day. You name it they have it. Sometimes you can get people pumped up by just that. Having pom-poms in your favorite team's colors to have during the game to cheer with can get you pumped up as well. These are great to have because they stick out in a crowd but, are not loud. Do not forget to hang your team flag outside the front door of your house. My flag flies proudly during the football season. One year my neighbors played a trick on me and took it. I was not happy. Also, when I watch the sport of boxing a shirt featuring the bouts or the boxers faces is my attire for that event. Also, hats, buttons or even posters will help get the blood boiling and can get the crowd hyped up.
Seeing the game in person can be more fun at times, than watching from home. It is fun to be on campus and see the fans with their sometimes outrageous attire and smells that are involved with football. I always enjoy people watching and seeing the different fans makes game day so much fun. Visiting the book stores and eating at your favorite restaurants on campus and hanging out with friends is a great way to spend a fall Saturday in the south. We take our football games very seriously. Game day is not just another Saturday, it is a way of life. Or in the case of the NFL Sunday Gameday. Go Colts!

Finger Foods for the Game
If you are having company for the game, here are a few ideas of finger foods that can be served to your guests. A good idea to cut down on the work for yourself is to have everyone pitch in and bring something to the party. It is a cute idea to decorate your home in your team colors and use serving platters, plates, napkins and cups in your team colors to keep with the football theme.
Pigs in a blanket: Perfect for everyone. These are easy and quick to eat. You can put a toothpick in these or just eat them as finger foods.
Pizza: Pizza is generally loved by kids and adults. Pizza can be ordered and delivered or made at home. Sometimes making pizza at home is more fun because, you can get the whole family involved in making the pizza.
Chips with dip: A perfect snack at game time. This is a recipe that has many varieties but, an easy one is 1lb velveeta cheese and 2 cans of Rotel tomatoes chopped (about 24oz.). Chop up the cheese into small chunks in a large microwaveable bowl. When the cheese is melting
Buffalo Wings (mild and hot):
Twice baked potatoes:
Sandwiches with different meat choices:
Meatballs with barbecue sauce:
Vegetables and Dip:
Fruit and Fruit Dip:
Cheese and Crackers:
Also, don't forget to have plenty of drinks on hand for your guests. It is fun to have buckets or coolers of ice and have the drinks sticking up out of the ice. It is good to have a variety of drinks because some may prefer alcohol and others may not. For these guests you could have soft drinks and lots of water. Check with your guests and make sure they eat meat. If they don't eat meat then you can prepare a veggie tray or several small vegetable cutlets for your guests.
There's an endless supply of appetizers that can be made for a football party. Cute ideas with football themes. I hope you enjoy!
